Hi Rich
I’m in the market for an FF.
Do you know of any notable changes in the FF over its years of manufacture?
Thanks to all others too that respond.
Regards
Toby
Early cars (c.2011-12)had no pano roof or powered tailgate option available so you won't find any fitted with those parts. They also run the risk of a DCT sensor failure from brittle tie wraps (about £7k to fix if it fails).I’m in the market for an FF.

From 2013 onwards, you see pano roof and powered tailgates as options (I think the tailgate may even have become standard around 2014-15 but I'm not sure) and the tie wrap problem has been addressed which reduces (but doesn't eliminate) the risk of DCT sensor failure.
Towards the end of the producton run (c.2015-16), you see pano roof as standard and an upgraded head unit with optional carplay being fitted.

My 2012 car has a powered tailgate 👍From 2013 onwards, you see pano roof and powered tailgates as options (I think the tailgate may even have become standard around 2014-15 but I'm not sure) and the tie wrap problem has been addressed which reduces (but doesn't eliminate) the risk of DCT sensor failure.

Or maybe I am mixing sth up - how else would you open it without a handle/button?
As you know, there is no external release for the FF's tailgate. The early cars have a manual close only but the option of a powered tailgate was available later (late 2012, I think). Here's a photo of the button.tjclowes said:
Hi, anyone know the different types of front seats available for an FF and the varying functions?
Thanks.
Regular, Daytona and Diamond stitch quilting. Thanks.
All were electric and available with optional seat heating. The Regular seats were definitely available with seat ventilation but I’m not sure if the Daytona and Diamond stitched ones could have ventilation or not (I think they could).
There weren’t any carbon seats, buckets or race seats for the FF although at least one owner has retrofitted carbon seats (from an F12, I think).
