Is it a tyre issue? I run P Zeros (not by choice), do people with Michelin PS4S’s have more noise?
MPS4S are quieter, don't tramline and handle better at the lower temps typically found in Northern Europe.
You really need to swap out the P-Zeros for MPS4S as they significantly improve the car.

On a related note, the manettino setting has quite a bearing on exhaust noise as the exhaust valves open at different RPM in Comfort vs Sport.
At typical UK motorway speeds, the exhaust (and cabin) is much quieter in Comfort than Sport.

I have a 2012 FF and have been to the Alps and back as well as numerous other UK road trips four up, and with the windows up, it is as quiet as a mouse, you couldn’t tell the engine was on at a legal cruise speed . Is it a tyre issue? I run P Zeros (not by choice), do people with Michelin PS4S’s have more noise?

On the looks, I prefer the less fussy look of the FF. I also do wonder whether they will end up in a 550/575 type position where the earlier is more liked for being a bit more raw.
I think this highlights the personal nature of noise. Some hear issues, some don't.

The reality was enough people raised it as a "problem" that Ferrari made the substantial changes to the Lusso that they did.

I actually think you could be right about the 550/575 scenario, although in many (mechanical) respects the 575 is far superior, it is less loved. That's more a manual/F1 situation though.

Get some PS4S's fitted, they are such an improvement in every respect.

Again, I don't have an issue at cruising/motorway speeds. I have a problem in crawling traffic/town speeds with drone.

I need to do some donuts/drag races in the P-Zeros to move them along…

I have a late 2015 car and there isn’t any noise issue that irritates me.

Did change to MP4S, huge driving difference, bit quieter, must do in my opinion

Speaking to a few hifi folk then can sound proof under rear seats where a few people have reported noise and this was dramatic they said. Speak to Cambridge car audio for example.

I would not be surprised if Ferrari tweaked a lot of things during the production years based on feedback so some issues maybe both personal and production variances.

Interesting re drone. I have a 2015 and my car has none, and I also have a Capristo back box! In comfort (with the Capristo in "cruise mode") it's as quiet as any normal car. As commented, if you put it in Sport, at motorway speeds it does tend to open the exhaust valve which may be the issue.

I also have Carplay which is lovely driving it day-day. And although I was initially drawn to the Lusso looks, now I'm used to them and owning an FF, the FF styling is much better resolved and I think is aging much better.

Not for sale btw smile

Again, no drone on motorways or cruising or even nice back road driving. It's lovely.

Stuck in traffic or at the Dartford tunnel in a queue of endless stop/start...I can deal with about 10 minutes of it.

Bear in mind I drive 1000 a month in it. I know many of these cars are only weekend toys never actually used in real world driving.

Did you fit the Lusso silencers yet?

Not yet, they're in bubble wrap in my garage. I'm in the middle of moving my business premises, then immediately after that moving house, so anything unimportant is a little way down the list at the moment!
