575M insights please

Looks very nice. Last serviced January 2016 though and looks like it's up to the successful bidder to deal with.

It was sold at Silverstone Auctions NEC sale in November 2015 for £70313. Then has been listed by Yorkshire Classic and Sportscars between July last year and January this year asking £75k then £70k. It now says sold (www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/15343814) but obviously isn't really, just gone to CC auction.

Well I'm officially out of the market having bought the 'yellow seat belts' car at KHPC. Pick up is in a couple of weeks after a service and other bits and pieces.
Good man Colin. Impressive decisiveness. Your username is clearly a bit of a misnomer. You must be excited. It's a lovely looking car you've chosen there and a great price, judging by the other 575s on the market. KHPC are a good bunch of people, too. Happy days!
It was locked, and I had a tracker that I wouldn't be using removed as part of the prep to reduce parasitic battery drain. I got it started using a CS Free and went for a good drive but that doesn't solve the issue. I can't hook it up to mains so think I'll need to use the battery cut off to preserve it for the time being.

Ha, yes. Any insights? This is the only 575 I've driven so thinking that I need to get into others to better compare.
Sorry for the late response! I don't know the car personally, just that I recognised it from previous sale adverts over the past few years (I'm sad enough to keep a log of good spec cars ) Not many 575Ms out there with yellow belts and 575 SuperAmerica instrument dials retrofitted I've got some old pictures of the car when it was on 18" 550 Barchetta wheels, and more latterly the 19" 575M Modular wheels.Edited by TwoMinds on Friday 2nd February 14:35
Also here's a short feature from Evo magazine, written by Henry Catchpole, on your car when it was up for sale in 2009. Could be worth printing and sticking in the history file, since he talks quite favorably of it. https://www.evo.co.uk/buying-advice/14016/ferrari-...

Hi everyone. So got that car home after an 80 mile motorway drive and parked it up without hooking it up to a charger. Went to drive it today and the battery, which passed a health check, is dead in 5 days. For anyone that owns one of these, is that to be expected?
Whilst batteries are like consumables on these — no, it's not what I'd expect! Very annoying. Especially after passing Kent High Performance Cars "health check" not too long ago. A full, healthy battery can last 2 weeks, so I would expect a minimum of 10 days after an 80 mile motorway run. I would get KHPC to replace the battery for you.KHPC diagnosed an intermittently faulty glovebox light switch as the root cause and replaced the battery for good measure. They were great.
To potential buyers, I would suggest test drives at motorway speeds if possible. For me, that would have highlighted a misaligned passenger door window and missing trim clip, both now sorted. With so many 575s fitted with non-standard exhausts, that would also show up any droning. With OEM straight pipes and Tubi back boxes, mine is LOUD and I've yet to decide if it's acceptable longer term. It's fun for now though.

When running the standard set up, you barely hear anything from the tail pipes at speed, but you hear a surprising amount of induction noise (there can’t be much soundproofing on the firewall/bulkhead) meaning that you always feel connected to what’s going on up front.
I also bought a carbon fibre airbox years ago. No idea if they are still available but it enhanced the intake noise massively. I already had a Tubi but the noise was wonderful. Standard car is way too quiet.V12 Ferrari+carbon airbox+Tubi backbox = a wonderful experience.
My 550 came with Tubis, and they droned at 2k rpm. I'm sure I've read somewhere that there are 575-specific Tubis that don't drone however.
I added an x-pipe to my car and it was a bit daft, and I've since added standard back boxes to the x-pipe which gives me the sound I was after whilst being quieter at lower speeds

The 575 had a different mid section setup to the 550.I added an x-pipe to my car and it was a bit daft, and I've since added standard back boxes to the x-pipe which gives me the sound I was after whilst being quieter at lower speeds
I played around quite a bit as there were also two different types of Tubi backbox. The solution I settled on was standard centre section and loud Tubi backbox for the 550 with carbon airbox. No drone, just a wonderful noise compared to standard.
On the 575 I had the quieter Tubi as the less restrictive centre section would have made it too loud.
