There's quite a number of 3*8s offered in this auction:

Could owners be thinking that the market is peaking?
No, but some owners are wanting to cash in. One of those cars was in the September sale but didn't make it to reserve; it's now rebooked at a few £ less. It's the 40th anniversary of the 308 GTB next year, so expect more interest rather than less.http://www.silverstoneauctions.com/nec-classic-mot...

New to the forum. The value of early Vetroresina's have increased quite substantially over the past 6 months. Having seen a few listed for 150k euro or more. Just wondering the thoughts of other 308 owners, regarding this spike in the fibreglass models, and if you believe they are worth that sum? Seems to me these 308's in general are finally getting the recognition they deserve. I own a 308 GTS and a early GTB fibreglass body.
Lots of fibreglass cars for sale and some of them have actually dropped in price as they haven't sold. Still some frenzied bidding from dealers though..
The number of 308's for sale has increased substantially in the last 3 months and we are heading into a far quieter time for classic car sales. Owners are being encouraged to cash in by auction houses and dealers.

It's all about the condition of the cars. As with any market, the good will demand a premium. But when the prices do move upwards all of the not so good cars get pulled up too. Lots of vetroresina's on the market; I think 4. Any of them original unmolested cars? No
Anyone can put a price on there car and not sell it. The good cars never normally hit the market. They have buyers lined up for them so never need to. Fact!!

I agree, hence why certain cars hang around unsold and individuals get the impression the market has stalled... imo of course.Anyone can put a price on there car and not sell it. The good cars never normally hit the market. They have buyers lined up for them so never need to. Fact!!
The chassis number is 19383. It is still holding its original paint which is blue/black boxer trim. I have noticed that the ones for sale at the moment aren't in complete original condition as well. I own a GTS along with the vetroresina, and there are quite a few differences which in general are subtle, acceleration is the notable difference. My favourite though is the door pockets, the original design was so much better than the button lock.
I would say its a 50-50 when it comes to cars coming to the public or being sold of privately. Car dealers generally want to market the cars publicly showing the value, in order to increase overall prices, this can generate an increase in sales of the specific model in question due to the increase of perceived value people gain, while the cars are still available for a considerably lower cost for dealers. This also brings in the cars that haven't really been cared for which the owners think is worth the same as a perfect example. As ruebdo stated before.
Wondering if the 308 may follow the 512bb trend of scattered increases of value?
Was thinking of adding an early 308 2+2, would anyone recommend buying?

OK, was searching around for this specific car! Wondered where it was sold to, Your Boxer scheme vetro is the first Ferrari I ever drove in, during my university time around 1987!I would say its a 50-50 when it comes to cars coming to the public or being sold of privately. Car was owned by the father of one of my friends at university, sadle we lost contact over the years, reason why I was too late when the car came up for sale...They had in the family for over 20 years.
You still have the nice Personal Fittipaldi steering wheel in it?
I have nice memories on that car, and the events we attended with it.
May still have some pics of it (not digital)
sad to inform you the paint is not its first coat, it has been resprayed totaly one time, and had some paint repairs done also.

Thats very interesting, yeah the Fittipaldi steering wheel is still on the car, great addition from them! Do you remember the interior colour? I know it has been changed. Thats nice to know it has been repainted though, better informed now. Apologise for that. The paint seems to have been done very well then. What events did you attend with the car? There has been some chassis strengthening at the rear of the car (normal practice), I assume they used the car on the track? I think there will be quite a few unmolested cars out there, but with the craze to have perfect restorations done, the chances are dwindling to find that perfect original car.
Car was originaly Swiss delivery when new, Swiss importer or first owner put that steering wheel in (have seen more Swiss cars with it, so I think it was the importer/dealer who did it) . Car came to holland around 1982/3 I think, short after that father of my friend bought it They used it primarily in the dutch FOC trackdays and small race series, put in a half cage, only behind the wheels, Brembo brake upgrade, 15 inch wheels , shock absorbers were revalved , Tilton (or AP) sintered clutch. Dont know what exactly was on the car when they sold it.
Pics of the car are still on the site of the dealer who sold it for them (asking price was 45.000 euro...) (Prinsesclusivo) and on Anamera in section ""sold"". If I remember well they bought the car with around 50000 km on it, sold it around 84000, never needed any engine work as far as I know. Work was allways done at ItalAuto in Achterveld, holland.
Pics of the car on a ramp are still on the website of the workshop.
Interior was blue carpet with beige leather seats with black insert.
more info maybe per mail?
