Has anyone thought about this? I don't know how hard it is to make an app for the iPhone or ipod touch, but wouldn't it be good if you could have a quick browse out and about when your aren't near to a PC.
Also, you be able to upload pictures into the spotted thread like you can do with the facebook app.
Any IT wizards out there, have a go for me!

They already have a mobile compliant website - I get it when I browse on the iphone to pistonheads.com.

Better solution in that its platform independent.

The thread has a mobile mode. Bookmark it onto your icons and it will appear as a ph smiley

I agree remote image uploading into the reply would be a great feature. As at the mo I have to upload to flickr from the phone. Go to flickr full web version mess about with sizes and grab the URL.

why is it that iphone users seem to think that the only way to do stuff is through an "app"

The Facebook mobile site is very good and doesnt need to be an app, ditto lots of other sites that they now demand "apps" for

ditto all sorts of stuff, "Is there an app" is the new <AOL>

The mobile website is fine until you try to view a thread and it throws up an error 75% of the time

It would be cool to have an app that gave you the latest news feeds and watched topic updates, or maybe quick car related info for down the pub thats was android combatible smile.

Indeed. I still browse the 'normal' site on my iPhone because of this. Shame it always defaults to the mobile site!

Can someone with iOS4 tell me if it's just me, but posting from your iPhone on the forum does the page go double size and the formatting of the reply box go all out.

Example:

hit 'reply to topic'

Type a line (all appears normal)

return to start a new line

Type something and the text box format goes all weird.

Ph looks great on the IPAD. Just not other forums who use vbulletin software.

Well, the Facebook APP happens to be a zillion times better than the mobile site... same goes for Autotrader, Rightmove and a ton more. So, APPs can be infinetly better as they are built for a specific platform.

That and replying to a set of nested quotes gets very difficult, unless someone can tell me how to scroll to the bottom of the quotes.
