Can I suggest specsavers?
Eh? Colours, fonts, sizes, graphics, all exactly the same on each screenshot. The only difference - and I had to put the shots next to each other to see that - was in some spacing and one header line missing.Big blue and GTI - they are just too much blue - too little contrast and not sharp screen shots don't actually show how big the difference is

Very OT I think I really do need glasses, finding very small type hard to read. Are specsavers any good or is it just the catchphrase?
been using them since my request to the NHS to make my arms longer was turned down HTHhidetheelephants said:

Only for now they are turning that option off soon.
If soon is the same 'soon' currently applied to https then no-one has much to worry about.Ooops
Hello PH minions, let me introduce you to the concept of managing expectations; what you've just done is a really good example of how not to do it.
Oh yes, while I'm here I still think GTI sucks the sweat from a dead dog's dripping balls. This retrograde step will dissuade me from wasting as much of my life on here, which broadly speaking is a good thing.

Oh dear what have they done?
This is absolutely bloody awful.
As HidetheElephants says, from now on, I shall be spending my time on good stuff instead of posting on here all the time.
Goodbye everyone and thanks for all the fish!

fk off, bring big blue back.
How many times/users need to post this to get the message through???!!!!only 0.2% of the forum users who logged in and found the skin had changed to GTI actually changed it back to either Big blue or Classic
So it's pretty clear that those using classic or big blue are in a very small minority
The Poll also confirms that - 380 votes for the classic option really gives you a scale of the problem (ie it's not)

Hating the forum look now. Bloody awful.
This. In spades. The GTI theme was put in place as reminder to log in, and make it go away. If any of the current devs had been around here for longer than the average life expectancy of a mayfly, they would know that.
Truth is, if you now have Haymarket/Pistonheads on your techie CV in early 2017, you'll be lucky in future to get a job writing Perl scripts to scrape guano off the runway at Ascension Island.
Because we *will* remember.

It could be a million and it still wouldn't be enough

The Poll also confirms that - 380 votes for the classic option really gives you a scale of the problem (ie it's not)
Assuming you even believe the statistics, it still needs some bounding like:only 0.2% of the forum users who logged in and found the skin had changed to GTI actually changed it back to either Big blue or Classic
So it's pretty clear that those using classic or big blue are in a very small minority

- How was the 0.2% calculated
- No. of active users in the time period
- No. of active users who posted something
- What percentage of recent content are the 'vocal minority' responsible for?
Given the way the same couple of hundred posters seem to generate most of the content (or even the same few tens in some places) upsetting that particularly minority can do a disproportionate amount of damage.
It doesn't take much to kill the core user base and with them lose the vast crowd of casual browsers.

Do they really care if a few hundred die hard PH forum users feck off somewhere else??It doesn't take much to kill the core user base and with them lose the vast crowd of casual browsers.
Is the forum really the draw for many users??
Well the advert site is unrelated so probably couldn't care less.
The front page news bit is such a token effort I doubt the world even notices it most of the time, there are a hundred other sites with more on them, including a few from Haymarket.
Not sure there's anything else? Core ultimately is the forum with a big advert site glued on the side.

Because we don't visit it - you are talking like a forum userJonesy23 said:

The stats for the site are mind blowing - yet if a Poll in GG gets a lot of votes and hits 1,000 votes it's a freaking miracleYou only think the forum users are what's important because it is to you
