It's poor and in need or urgent improvement. But what isn't acceptable, to me atleast, is the loss of being to view the images in full, that is making it worse as at the moment you can always not click on it.

Losing the decent Res copies, both now and in the future is naff, including given a lot of the value in PH is the significant repository of past threads.
Unless the mid-long term plan includes restoring access to the higher resolution images.

And the watermark is highly irritating too. It's a poor solution, period.

PH’s “matter of urgency” is going to be a new unit of geological time when it comes to resolving thumbsnap issues.

Is this done yet? It still clicks through on mobile (Android) which is less of an issue I guess than desktop.

I mean, the upload / forum code / something is now broken, is that what you mean?

Clicking on the non-image still takes you to saucy thumbsnap.

Its a free photo service, being used heavily by Pistonheads. Thumbsnap are not a charity.

Alternative is for Pistonheads to start storing and serving the images themselves, which is then an ongoing cost.

I use imgur for pics here. Costs nothing, no watermarking, full res.

in a weird plot twist i have just searched for the tag "pistonheads" on thumbsnap and got the following response.

"Warning: The search you have initiated may result in finding objectionable content as defined by our Terms of Service and has been blocked"

It's borked now, well for me anyway.

The pic is there on Thumbsnap, but will not display in the forum post, even if I use the direct link.

You are a private user.

Pistonheads are commercial, and Imagegur would charge them to use their api.

A retrograde step that completely ruins PH's Photography & Video section - what's the point of submitting stunning images if they can't be seen properly?

Please restore the enlarge feature.
