Anything to contribute PH staff/IT people? Or are you ignoring the Website Feedback section of the forums?
Tuesday is switchover day I think and they said the annoying adverts would go straight away. Not long until Because unless they are CarGurus execs, they really don't get much of a say. And opinions, following an acquisition, are invariably prone to change.
Yep just look at MSN messenger back in the late 90s and early 00s.
They must have had near 100% coverage.
What does Skype have now? 5%? There are like 20 apps/chat methods now.
If PH forums go the single most valuable asset goes imo. Community.
PHs value beyond the community has to be about 1p.
They must have had near 100% coverage.

But the community value is almost entirely intangible to corporate shareholdersThey must have had near 100% coverage.

This forum is nigh on unusable on my Mac - every page is delayed in rendering...this post took ages to load up, wait for render, type, submit, wait for render, etc, etc. In the beginning I was thinking my newly upgraded broadband connection was at fault.
Do the IT developers not have a screen that works at the same pace as their users?! It is no good the developers sitting on a local network thinking everything is working fine!
Will try Brave now....
Pathetic - been like this for yonks.

You assume there are developers. See all the feedback with any answer being' its on the to do list', never a 'ta da we've done this that you asked for'.Do the IT developers not have a screen that works at the same pace as their users?! Making that forum borderline unusable in the main two formats/browsers (there's probably a good proportion who CBA to grab another & set it up correctly) and you don't have a winner. You'll get legacy goodwill for a while, but only one end result.

Just fired up Brave - bloody hell, this thing’s quick!
It's great for other sites with annoying levels of ads too, like local newspaper websites. If they detect an ad-blocking plug-in, they cover up a third of the screen with an 'We notice you're using an ad-blocker' banner, but Brave slips past unseen, killing all the ads and leaving the full screen available.
Hi all,
I profusely apologise that this issue is still ongoing.
As you may or may not know, CarGurus has just completed the acquisition of PistonHeads! This means the future is looking bright and we'll be investigating all reported issues in the near future.
In the mean time, it would be very handy if you could keep providing screenshots and as much detail as possible.
Thank you.

Sorry but I can't help but keep thinking of this from the movie Idiocracy illmonkey said:
Were the new ad's introduced before the sale to pump up the revenue, or as soon as CG had ownership to cash in as quickly as possible, regardless of issues it may cause?
All existing ads were not sourced/sold by CG! We want to improve user experience now, rather than break things unnecessarily Gassing Station | Website Feedback | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
