New Classified Format !!!

The second point is very likely to do with people either listing them in the wrong place or some small migration niggle (to give you some insight into why that's difficult look at S Series on the old site. It says that there are 9, but when you go into the category there are around 24, with many listed as sold).
Hi Stuart,Thanks for feedback. Although the counting of sold/unsold is not 100% correct on the old site, the old site doesn't show Chimps or Cerbs. So it can't be a "people listing problem"
Hope you can correct the small migration niggle ;-))

OK everyone - I think that PH gets the picture - onwards and upwards me thinks.
Anyway I would like to go one record and say that in my opinion PH is by far the best platform of it's kind and supports it's users by providing a great series of forums to share and air view/issues, so well done that man/woman!
Cheers
Steve

I have noticed you have posted several times on this thread with negative comments on the new classifieds. I am yet to see a constructive comment that helps us improve the classifieds to solve your moans. We welcome all comments, good, bad, and ugly but if you want to help the site get better - help us help you.
If we, your "customers" and contributors think what you have done is brilliant and choose not to blow sunshine up your backside that's our choice.
Similarly if this chap wants to only complain, as long as he's not abusive or breaking the rules, he's perfectly at liberty to do so isn't he? We are your customers and contributors, not a bloody focus group giving you feedback!

I have no idea who the original poster is, but am I alone in finding it annoying that PH staff complain that something they chose to change isn't warmly welcomed by the people who, in aggregate, are the value in the business?

That will be me (but then PH amalgamated two threads and put them on the site feed back forum) - it was just an observation! If we, your "customers" and contributors think what you have done is brilliant and choose not to blow sunshine up your backside that's our choice.

There have been some great contributions in this thread and elsewhere during the development of the new site, and many of the features in it have come about because of them.
So the chap is perfectly entitled to not like the site, but this forum is meant for constructive feedback rather than *just* complaining.

why when I try to login to the classifieds does the tell me my username is not valid, have the forum accounts and classifieds accounts now been separated?

Ok, so I've signed up for a new trade account (Will Blackham Lotus) and opted for £182+vat per month
Any chance of a Facebook page link/button that I can display on my adverts?
I'm sure I'm not the only trade advertiser with a facebook page that which find this feature useful
I hope the new classifieds are worth it!! It seems to have already started charging me from the date I regsitered a new account, despite the fact I haven't actually atcually uploaded any ads yet!
When will the old classifieds be closed? I link to the old classifieds on my FB page and elsewhere and I assume at some point they will stop working??
This would be useful to know
RIP old classifieds, you will be very much missed

Very good suggestion that, and you're the first to have made it. We'll add it to the list.I'm sure I'm not the only trade advertiser with a facebook page that which find this feature useful

Right now the new classified/old classified split is around 60/40 percent. So you could link over now if you wanted. We'll close down the old site in a few weeks I expect - at present we're maintaining a migration process which will move your ads from old to new and vice versa regardless of where you add them (this has been running for some time in fact) but the new site now deals with most of the traffic. Very well too, I might add. This would be useful to know

I seem to be having trouble uploading photos.
I get stuck on this page, and when I go through the normal browse and select pictures but nothing seems to show up.
Please help, I've got a lovely 10 plate Yaris that needs a new home.
Hmm. I'm not a techie, so I'm winging it, but have you got a pop up blocker running that you could try switching off? I get stuck on this page, and when I go through the normal browse and select pictures but nothing seems to show up.

With a trade account, if you go to Step 2 of the ad upload process there is an option for "Add link of this ad to your site" - could you put your Facebook link there for now?Any chance of a Facebook page link/button that I can display on my adverts?

Small observation that hopefully shouldn't be hard to implement. Been toying around with the new classifieds for a little while, I'll admit at first I was a bit irked but after a couple of minutes I'm content. There are undoubtedly teething issues but as a casual browser I can't see much of a problem. The only thing I've noticed is that when I search for a part ex, the p/ex section doesn't come up in the results. Can be quite irritating if I search "911" or "997" if I was looking to chop in my C2S, and instead get loads of ads for "996 911s" or "997 GT3/GT2/Turbo" etc. If a search is done with the part ex field ticked, would it be possible to include the part exchange box in the results page? Would save having to go through every car individually to find out which ones are relevant to what I'm after.
Cheers!
Cheers!

Im not averse to change but the new classified format is just unhelpful and unnecessary, and I'll be looking elsewhere. Signing-off.
Agreed. It's change when there was no need to. Still, I suspect a few bob has been spent on this latest 'improvement' so it HAS to work like it or not. I don't like it, it's crap.

Have you read any of this thread including the detailed technical explanation for why the classifieds needed rebuilding? Have you figured out that you don't have to use the advanced search features and that a precise replica of the old classifieds interface appears a few centimetres down the page? It's change when there was no need to. Still, I suspect a few bob has been spent on this latest 'improvement' so it HAS to work like it or not. I don't like it, it's crap.

Personally I like the new style, what is it you don't like about the new improved lok?
