My Sign In Keeps Dropping Out
Discussion
Still getting the problem. Seems to be forgetting that it's logged in after I close the browser, but going to My Stuff fixes it for that session. To reproduce, login, go to My stuff, close browser. Reopen pistonheads, and all the red icons for last visited etc are missing. Click My Stuff, then go back to forum home and it all works.

FWIW, I am seeing the same behaviour across iOS Safari and Chrome on Windows 7. At various intervals, I navigate back to my bookmarked forum page whilst logged in, the bookmarked URL being....
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/default.asp?h=...
(Yes...mid=29....I can remember when it was all just a planetary accretion disk round here etc etc)
...and I appear to be logged out - no filtering of forums. Clicking the 'Sign In' link sends me back to the link above, and I'm in a logged in state, without the requirement to actually enter any credentials.
The set of URLs traversed are (with params redacted where they appear to be tokens of some description...and interesting that an HTTP URL is hit up in the middle of it vs HTTPS):
200 GET https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/default.asp?h=...
(Apparently logged out, click 'Sign in')
200 GET https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/userstatus
302 GET https://www.pistonheads.com/account/logon? <params redacted>
301 GET http://www.pistonheads.com/user/wsfed? <params redacted>
200 GET https://www.pistonheads.com/user/wsfed? <params redacted>
302 POST https://www.pistonheads.com/
302 GET https://www.pistonheads.com/account/callback? <params redacted>
302 GET https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/default.asp?h=...
Using the Charles debugging web proxy, I can see the following differences in cookie values in the two fetches of the bookmarked URL above.
Changed:
_gw
_sp_id.a92f
gsv2
Added:
_cmpQcif3pcsupported
.AspNet.Federation
ASPSESSIONIDQAATBTQB
IdSvr.WsFedTracking
SessionID
show
I'm obviously not going to post any cookie values here, but if the devs are interested I'm happy to send them a dump of the Charles traffic log.
this is gold... will be in touch through pm so we can dig into it!https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/default.asp?h=...

I thought it was just me, so I came into website feedback to see if anyone else was struggling.
I’m having exactly the same issues as described by everyone else, come out of Safari then back in and I’m “signed out”. Clicking on the “Sign in” link takes me straight back in, without actually having to sign in, although since I’ve had this issue, I’ve also had to sign in “properly” a few times as well.
FWIW, 6 gen 9.7” iPad, most recent version of iOS 12, using Safari browser.

Also have the same problem, no changes to cookie settings that I know about. Started about 3 days ago for me I think.
Chrome on Win10, navigate to site (www.pistonheads.com/gassing), not logged in. Click Sign In, and signed in without having to enter password. It all works from there until I start a new browser window.

Everyday for the last few weeks I've been having to sign in again, very frustrating.
I tried updating my bookmarks to ensure I'm on the HTTPS protocol as to avoid the talked about redirect, cleared cookies soo many times.... but nope - guaranteed when I try to login tomorrow (24hrs later) I'll be asked to sign in again, despite checking the box to be remembered.
This sign-in persistence was working fine until recently.
Chrome 76.0.3809.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Windows 10 Pro

I've been getting sporadically logged off for... years I think, across quite a number of different devices (PCs and phones). Sometimes every few days, sometimes not for a few weeks. Not an issue with any other forums, only PH.
I used to report it from time to time but gave up long ago on expecting PH to fix it!
