Is it just me, or has Ted forgotten to feed the hamster that's powering the forum servers?

I am experiencing very, very long delays on updating and particularly posting.

Is it just me or is anyone else getting this?

Yeah, i'm getting the same. Usually when posting, and sometimes threads just don't open at all. Feels like a network problem as it's all zippy and fast when it does work.

I see the mileometer is already past 42,800. I guess the demands are pretty heavy from time to time?

Over the last couple of weeks I'd say that 90% of the time it seems to be fine (512k Broad Bean) - but at some times (peak - lunchtime and early evening GMT?) there can be the odd very l-o-n-g wait.....

my office has a 10MB BB line and quite often it just stops...sometimes it open the page after 2,3,4,5 minutes, sometimes I've left it for an hour and it hasn't moved. the only solution I find is to stop, refresh, and hope...repeat

The servers are all fine, running well within their capabilities. I do experience the same problem myself from time to time but haven't got to the bottom of the problem yet.

FWIW, after a lot of this happening to me recently, today the site has been superquick - in case you did anything, in which case it worked!

We made a few tweaks and generally things have been faster. Not convinced that's the end of the story though.

You were right,Ted (when is it ever the end of the story with computers? ) it's intermittently slow again today, and esp on posting replies/moving to next page type stuff. Happy Hunting!

Things are exceedingly slow at the moment..

Tried on two different net connections, 2mb in the office and 1mb here at home, both the same story...
