My word - I go away and do some work for a bit and look what lovelies have been posted in my absence. I don`t think I`ve seen a Lancia Flaminia Zagato yet (anyone?) - oh, and what about an Alfa SZ (the original one from the 60`s)??..please.
I was lucky enough to be brought up in a motoring family that had odd tastes and spent many a happy hour on the roadside next to a steaming bit of cheap exotica. Dad had them all from multiple SM`s, Montreal, every shade of Lancia (including a flavia zagato like vario-rob), Guilias, Guilietta, Alfettas, Fiat Dino, 130 coupe and all sorts of other horrors. Amongst the favourites were the Gamma`s that used to expire on a regular basis. Incidentally this had nothing to do with tinworm but rather the fact that the power steering pump was run off the cambelt. Full lock = belt slip = boom!
Rather suspect that this nostalgia may prove unfortunate for the ettore wallet...

How good does that look!!
My god Dinkel - you've started a runaway train with this thread, it's clearly unleashed a torrent of latent nostalgic passions. I vote we turn this thread into a hardback book.
I strongly suspect that classic car dealers will be receiving an unusually large number of calls this weekend regarding 60's and 70's italian exotica...

THIS IS WHAT PISTONHEADS IS ALL ABOUT !!
The celebration of fantastic cars - and unusual ones at that !!
I go away for a few hours to see a client , and then come back to feast on yet more beauty.
Italian cars of the 1960's and 70's. There must be a book on that subject. If not, this thread does indeed deserve to get published !
My vote goes to the black Miura and the red Fiat Dino spyder.
Those Zagato bodied Alfas in all their different versions are beauties as well.
And to think that a Fiat Dino Coupe with a 2.4 litre 6 cylinder ferrari engine can be had for well under £10k, sorted.
Get a cheap Focus for a run around, secure in the knowledge that you have a real Italian thoroughbred for the weekend.
Now all I need are some driving gloves !
The opening scene to the Italian Job - A Miura on a mountain pass. Such things dreams are made of.
Edited to add that this thread also seems to have picked out the real petrolhead nerds and afficianados among us . Nice to know that we are not alone in our geekdom !

Oh my god !
Out for the evening and I return to motoring nirvana.
This thread is now officially a classic.
Some of the most beautiful cars ever seen.
Is the well of Italian designed or influenced sports cars simply endless?
Maybe it is --- we have'nt even started on Zagato bodied Aston Martins yet. Like this one:
Heaven on 4 wheels. You gotta admit, that is one handsome motor car...
