Colin Clarke is similar to Mike. And only works on older cars. Recently did a bunch of work on my Jalpa.

Dave at Pangbourne loves working on the older cars too - he’s worked on my Countach. He’s much closer to me than, Mike or Colin. Seems to get parts from the factory quicker sometimes.
Colin Clarke still going? I did not know. Nice to know there are some options should the need arsie. Much more of a hike but options none the less.

What work did Dave and Co do you at Pangbourne? Normally main dealers would not touch old cars with a bargepole . .

Cheers
Rob

Colin’s definitely still going.
He sorted out an issue a while back on my Jalpa that Mike hadn’t.

Dave’s done a variety of stuff on my Murcie, Diablo and Countach. All with the upmost care.
He’d like to have the Jalpa too!

Really not a fan of the skirts, I actually think the Anniversary looks better.

I prefer the 88.5 to an anniversary for sure. If it was a choice between a 5000S and an 88.5 .. I'm not sure.

LHD should broaden its appeal in theory.

I made an inquiry on it and its been owned by the same owner since 89

The periscopo and non skirt QV look best IMO. Presumably you could remove the skirts if you really wanted.

The 88.5 to me is the best variant. More complete technically than early cars but without the Chrysler bits that diluted the Anniversary. And also extremely rare as only made for a matter of months.

From what I could determine, if you removed the skirts there would be a big hole. It might not be the case for the first few 88.5s, I'm not sure.

I don't claim any expertise on the question, other than trawling the internet, so happy to be corrected.

They had strakes to cool the rear brakes I believe so guess you’d near a new rear arch. No doubt prohibitively expensive unless it was easy to switch back

Blimey I'm busted! I'm hoping to extend the month out to at least 32 days in an enormous display of self-control!
Your in a lovely position to be in, not hungry for another car but can make a move if something worth while comes up , perfect, phone

The internet with all it's car porn doesn't help matters either.

Having car trouble the last couple of weeks which is making me take stock of what am i doing .

The 430 two weeks ago got that i sorted myself and now the Gallardo all because they were not stored at home .

The Gallardo won't start at all, done what i can do but now has to go on the truck to A&E.

Someone suggested that it could be rats have eaten into the electrics as it's in a barn come garage.

Covid and what seems like a endless winter had something to do with it as hardly used any of the cars

but they were 12 miles down the road and your inclined not to bother.

May have a reshuffle , sell some but not replace with so many, with less i should get round to driving them all regularly.

With no wifey to rein me in nono i forgot to sell a car ever time i bought another one and the dogs don't care how many cars i have .

Fingers crossed re Rat Rod's Gallardo. We have very limited garaging at home and proximity is definitely a big factor.

Adam, you're right the arches won't be the same as a non-skirted car.
