Amazing how things have moved on, bet you didn't think you would prefer driving a Ford to a Ferrari,

Not even now really, some years ago i remember enjoying my Dino out on the forest roads when a 240Z

came into my mirror ,couldn't shake him off no matter what i tried, Like to think it was the 240Z not that

he was a better driver,rolleyes

Polo Storico say that they spent 25,000 hours restoring the LP500 just shown at Villa D’Este.
At, say, £100ph + parts that’s quite a bill, even for Polo Storico.

It wasn't a restoration though, it was a complete new build.

To restore the Historics Countach in Italy it would be about €400k. By people who know what they are doing.

What’s the basis of that number?

From people who get this work done there all the time. Mechanicals by Top Motors, bodywork and paint at Bacchelli and Villa. Standard sort of budget for serious collectors, normally on Periscopicas as they are worth more. Miura level. Total job, not “I stripped it down and got a local bloke to paint it…” Which is how this one got in this state, I guess…

Last person that I spoke to who got his Miura done at Polo Storico spent about €800,000.
