After reading this thread over and over and drooling at the porn on offer it amazes me that people can get excited about modern cars with all there abs/tcs/xyzdgts etc.

I so want this car

Apologies for posting it again but so what, its truly stunning.

no apologies needed sir, that is the most beautiful car EVER built, have wanted this car more than a 250GTO which is saying something !!

ALFA made a lot of nice cars but this one reminds me of a naked woman everytime I see it....I may be due for my psychiatric examination though

Oh my God! I'm in love! Either that , or I just died and went to heaven

Perhaps a little too contemporary once again but with links back to more illustrious forbearers worthy of a look.

Whilst discussing the acquisition of a Kitten with the lady last night the inevitable chat about favoured pets from the past ensued. About 30 years ago the young vario had a feral kitten that due to his rather wild nature was imaginatively named ‘Oscar’. So thinks me
“Oscar, didn’t they make cars once upon a time? must have a look”

And so it came to pass thanks to a long since dead cat, the OSCA

Cue the Chav brigade, I think its Subaru powered?

I see that someone has already stuck a few German cars in the thread so I'm not the first to crash through the dominance of the Italian beauties. I just love these things and consider them worthy of inclusion in a thread on automotive magnificence...

Surely the greatest PH thread ever!

Now that i'm truly lusting after most of the pictures posted on this thread the next question is - where can one see these things in the flesh? Are there any decent public collections / museums (in the south east) or are there regular meets with emphasis on 60's and 70's Italian exotica?

OCTOBER 22nd-24th - Prescott, Arizona - The Histo Rallye Arizona 500 - The Histo Rallye Arizona 500 is a true, European style, driver challenge. If you are looking to challenge your driving abilities and your driving endurance, this rallye is seeking to do just that. The Rallye Arizona 500 will test drivers, cars and their co-pilots, in true European rallye format, on 400 miles through spectacular Arizona landscapes. Starting at 8.oo am in Prescott the rallye will take the teams on winding roads, over hills, through some cities, over some Highways and on some local roads, maybe sunshine, maybe rain or on the mountains even snow until the driver and his co-pilot have covered those 400 miles following their Road Book. Finish will be from 5.3o pm onwards in Prescott, so even some night driving might encountered onto the finish line. The driving teams will have to follow exact directions, check-in on time at the various check points along the route and time their distances to avoid penalty points. Check points will be published in the Road Book, but not all.

GTS gran turismo sports is organizing this rallye. The owner, Stefan Schleissing, has participated at numerous European historic events including the Rallye Histo Monte and upon moving to the United States, found that he could not find a true challenging vintage car rallye. "I like to be challenged in a rallye, not to just touring"

The Histo Rallye Arizona 500 is for pre-1974 cars only and limited to the first 99 entries. The cost is only $ 895 per team ( $ 835  before July 15th), and includes entry fees, 2 night accommodations (double occupancy) , pre- rallye briefing, Road Book , rallye memorabilia, rallye plaques for the car, lunch dinner and trophies. To secure your entry, a deposit of $ 350,- is required, Final payment will be due August 31,2004. To receive your entry form, please contact GTS today.

Not in the least, virtually every prewar MG and postwar TC.TD.TF, Morgans right up to now etc.

Then perhaps 90% of all pre-war cars.

Unique no, ubiquitous, well very nearly at one stage.

How about these for some obscurity:

The GM CERV III, basically a mid-engined Corvette prototype with engineering development from Lotus:

The Laraki Fulgura, a Diablo-based concept car from 2002:

The SSC Aero SC/8T, an upcoming (hopefully) American supercar:

Remember Bitter? A concept from them in 2003:

For those of the ‘Fast Lane’ magazine generation, who could forget the oozing class of a Zender body kit? Take a perfectly decent SL (or similar) and add plastic that was pure ‘Richard Grant Accessories. Not satisfied with ballsing up Mercs they actually made their own car, in a word, NO!

They were actually based on the last few Bugatti EB110 chassis that were left over from the project. Not a car to everyone's tastes I'm sure, but I really likethem, especially in blue

Bertone Runabout Barchetta in fact! I had a yellow Corgi model one. Shamelessly (and badly) copied as the Fiat X/19.
