Countach and Miura
Discussion
Some of you may have seen the thread of my late father-in-laws cars. He was one of the most respected classic car dealers in the UK and well known in the car world.
He bought and sold around 50,000 cars in his lifetime and held 3 amazing cars in his private collection that he has owned for many years, a 1969 Lamborghini Miura P400S, a Lamborghini Countach LP400S and a 1971 Corvette Stingray ZR2. There were also around 20 business cars that were left too, that are being auction in April.
Anyway the 2 Lambos are off to auction at Bond Street in December. It would be amazing if these ended up in the hands of a proper Lamborghini fan.

Good luck at auction. Can you advise general condition of both cars. Is there work to be done?
R
They have both been stored for a pretty long time. The Countach only has 6k kms on the clock and the Miura 14k miles.R
The probably both need engine reconditioning, but other than that are in good condition in my uneducated view. They were my father-in-laws pride and joys and he's owned the Miura since 1995 and the Countach since the 80's.
If you are interested, I know people have been contacting Bonhams to view the cars and check on condition.
Thanks to anyone that bid on the cars.
The Countach is off to San Francisco, to someone that already owns a Countach. It sold for £400k
The Miura we aren't sure where that is heading yet. That sold for £940k
Next up is the Corvette Stingray ZR2 that has made its way to the US and goes to auction at the end of January. https://www.bonhams.com/auction/28009/preview-lot/...

Looking at Bonhams results the above figures are without buyer commissions,
£1,067,800 total for the Miura and £460,000 for the Countach,
Although not many lots entered most were sold so with the above lots does highlight
the commissions on top of the hammer price, looks like Bonhams had a good day. mind
you i wouldn't want to pay their light bill.

We have the ZR2 selling next Friday in Arizona! Then at Goodwood in April the rest of my Father In Laws business cars will be sold!
I imagine Bonhams will be puffing on cigars!
