Trying to get my head around the three trims levels, coupe, Lux and Performance
I struggle with words so I popped it into excel
Red items in performance are items not mentioned so fair to assume they are missing.
Id ideally want Lux - for the extended leather, seats, and window trim..... but being a sucker for carbon fiber and contrasting ascents, performance may be a better choice...so bit torn

Trying to work out how the novel aero at the front of the door works ... does the front edge of the door protrude out wider than the rest of the car?
If the air intake and radiators are fed through the double skinned doors ... which in turn look like they grab air from somewhere around the front wheel arch? ... won't you get a load of crap thrown up off the road in there?

Is there no way of combining the two trim options, ideally I would also want the carbon however it would need to be with leather.
Is there an options list doing the rounds yet, I registered interest with my local McLaren dealer earlier in the week but have yet to receive anything through?

You mean the area low down in front of the back wheels with the air vent right? That whole area will be stone chipped to death, as will the bottom of the doors just like the 12c/650s. Totally impractical design. TP321 said:

I'll get it done afterwards, most dealerships just sub contract it out - so no point paying them hundreds to call someone , I could speak to direct.My car won't arrive till end of the year 2017 /start 2018 - so they should be a few choices out by then for which PPF kit to use.

No, there's a hole between the front fin and door skin with full exposure to the front wheel.... so I'm talking the whole side being at risk...boxerTen said:

The door skin/ surface is at risk from some exposure to the face of the tyres (this air not on its way to the engine)If the air intake and radiators are fed through the double skinned doors ... which in turn look like they grab air from somewhere around the front wheel arch? ... won't you get a load of crap thrown up off the road in there?
The air intake (engine intake) is fed from air from the top of the bonnet, channelling down into the double skin.

I'm not sure it's necessarily novel but every car wanting to make significant downforce always has some sort of way to release the turbulence built up by the front wheels, usually through vents at the top of the wheel arches per race cars but some cars also have had it behind the front wheels (918 for example and it seems the 720). If that can then be vented into the engine intakes it's quite a neat solution it has to be admitted even if I'll admit that the 720 doesn't obviously seem to have a lot of cooling which it's sure to need.If the air intake and radiators are fed through the double skinned doors ... which in turn look like they grab air from somewhere around the front wheel arch? ... won't you get a load of crap thrown up off the road in there?
