Lovely!!
You can remove the plastic mesh. You will see plastic clips that hold the mesh in place, rotate them 90 degrees and pull the clips out. You don't need to remove the mesh every time but it makes it easier to clean the rads and to give a quick coat of matt black spray when the rads start to show the chips.

Thanks guys, really loving the car, and the spec is just how I'd want it for a daily.
Only criticism I have is the reversing camera presentation on the IRIS is woefully small, slow and so laggy you could easily bump something.
The IRIS system is so slow to boot up I've reversed out the garage and gone before it's up and running!
Other problem is I cant stop driving it and it's always dark when I get home so not had chance to wash it yet!!

Quick question, is there a socket for a battery conditioner or do people just use the lighter socket?
There is a socket under a sprung flap on the battery access panel in the front 'boot'. That's the one I use, then just leave the lid partially latched rather than fully pressed down. The Surveyor said:

Great thanks, is it just a cigarette lighter socket or a special one?The one on the 458 is a special one and the car then knows it's plugged in and wont start until you unplug to avoid issues.

It's just a normal lighter type socket which takes the charger which came with the car.The one on the 458 is a special one and the car then knows it's plugged in and wont start until you unplug to avoid issues.
If you're not using the McLaren branded charger, make sure the one you're using is compatible with the light-weight Lithium battery. Apparently if you use a 'normal' charger you risk damaging the battery, which are a couple of grand to replace.
