The 600LT Seems To Have Fell Off The Radar
Discussion
Unless I'm living in a dark room the 600LT seems to have fallen of the radar,I see or hear very little about it. There are 6 for sale all with delivery miles and the don't appear to be moving at the moment.Does anyone on here actually own and drive one and can they give us the real life experience about the car?
I know of 2 owners that paid 10k deposit, spec'd their cars to £250k approx, cars got delivered and the depositors cant be contacted for love or money! completely gone off the face of the earth leaving the dealers sat on their deposits and having no option but to try and sell on the cars!
Times are changing for a few or these brands, the speculators are drifting away, time will tell but i keep hearing the same old

I guess that they worked out a 10k loss is better that a 50k loss Times are changing for a few or these brands, the speculators are drifting away, time will tell but i keep hearing the same old

When you compare 250k for 600LT against £150k even paying overs for the PORSCHE GT3 then the 250k is complete madness in comparison to the GT3

I currently like both the 720 and 600LT but now being retired I treat my car buying fund carefully as it will only diminish and not grow.
So as much as I would like to tick one of the boxes at the moment I consider it to be financial
suicide as is proven by the complete mess that is the Mclaren used car market.
So for now I’m watching and would say unless money means absolutely nothing to you I just can’t see people will keep on taking the baths that buying a new or nearly new Mclaren hands out!
Your comment about the GT3 being a poor choice that I regret is simply absurd and without foundation.

All three cars where going round Oulton at a fast pace, the guy driving the GT3 said he had just bought a 600LT and will be running both cars this year, so it will be interesting to see what he has to say. if you have a foot in both camps then you are hopefully not going to be as biased as some of the other commenters on these forums.

I have one, love it. Easily the most capable and exciting car I've ever had or been in.
Looks-wise, I think it's fantastic but I guess that's subjective.
I’m with you I think they look great and I am sure they drive epically, that’s not where the problem lies for me!Looks-wise, I think it's fantastic but I guess that's subjective.
When the time is right it will be a box to tick!

Money means everything to me but enjoying it means rather more hence I've bought a new one
My GT3 comment stands - wouldn't entertain one thanks or any Porsche

Check the many other threads about ownership, depreciation, reliability, dealer support etc, there are many and not all started by me!!!
Well done for having a mindset where your happy to lose £60k for a few thousand miles of fun,I have plenty of fun without sustaining such rediculous losses!!!

No Matty you couldn’t be more wrong! I’ve been on here for years and have a great interest in all cars. I’ve probably owned and driven a more eclectic collection of cars than most and still do. I have always had a deep interest in Mclaren back to the days of the MP412C,I very nearly bought one a few years back.

Then stop looking at Mclaren. You have been very clear about what the priority of a car is to you - lack of depreciation/appreciation above anything else and fair enough, your money, your choice. Just enjoy your gt3 without needing to constantly take a pop at any of the Mclarens for losing money when other people are prepared to put up with that aspect of ownership.I currently like both the 720 and 600LT but now being retired I treat my car buying fund carefully as it will only diminish and not grow.
