Try to buy a post July 2018 build model with the silver ‘flame / swoosh’ on the badge. They are a ‘facelift’ model with updated software and most issues ironed out.
This ^The silver tick signifies a 2019 model year car (which were actually built from mid 2018 onwards). Visually almost identical to earlier cars apart from the silver ticks though.
Silver logo (later model)
Quick question - is there a guide to the MIS Infotainment system?
My 12C had a separate guide for IRIS. The 720s has a user manual which is good but has only a very basic overview of MIS. I assume there has to be a separate guide for the media/radio and of course the satnav?? Im not seeing one.

Starting to tentatively look at a nearly new 720S spider and wondered if McLarens build quality and reliability has improved 4 years into production and volumes have been significantly reduced. Spiders seem quite rare and there are some cars £60k under list and low miles. Whats the general view of the build quality on these later 720S spiders.
From what I have read later 650S Spiders were well put together and reliable so is it now the same for the 720 for years on ?
Anyone got any experience of a new 720 S spider they wish to share with a newbie to the brand

Not sure there was really any build quality issues.
A few cars had electric gremlins, gorilla glass failure, suspension accumulator failure and aluminium corrosion on body panels.
I’ve had 3 Macs and yes there have been some issues of which none serious.
There is some evidence that the later 2018 cars onwards appear to have less issues but in the main from my experience on my 720s no better or worse than my 911
Imo they are bargain Hypercars

Covered 5,000 miles in 720 Spider in last 10 months. Zero reliability issues in that time although the laquer had minor deterioration on 2 wheels, which McLaren dealer pointed out themselves and replaced under warranty.
