The 765 looks a right handful and ended up with a rather slow time. No expert, but are the tyres on these not wide enough (it is not like a Trofeo R is not sticky...)? 620 also quite slow, possibly more optimized for slicks maybe?

Well, they just have too much power for their geometry. And they both seemed to have seemed to struggle on entry through the far hairpin. Of course tyres will help here. And, I’m sure someone who spends more time with them will eke out better times. But the set up probably makes it too difficult to just jump in and get the best times with a few acquaintance laps.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51EcY4vAPtw

And slightly slower than a 720S Track Pack; 1:46.2 vs the 720S 1:45.5.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51EcY4vAPtw
Sport Auto's YouTube comments:
Why is the 765LT (1.46,2 min) slower than the 720S (1.45,5 min)? The 720S with Track Pack / Trofeo R had a very well balanced setup with perfect traction and a good drivability. In the 765LT it was the opposite. First problem: Entry oversteer when the steering input is a tiny bit too sharp (You have to work very, very sensitive on the steering wheel at the corner entry). Second problem: Less traction and snappy oversteer during accelerating out of the corner.
Pretty much confirms the edgy looking handling from the online reviews.
Senna for comparison - scary fast through the fast corners and seems to have decent grip out of the slow corners As well. I’d quite like one of those even if they are rather challenging to look at - certainly doesn’t look like the 765 gets anywhere near it

Just realized the Senna is one tyre size up 245/315 vs 235/305 - that probably helps a little in the slower corners

Ah didn’t know that, then only a little more traction for the senna
Baffling why the 765 didn't get the 315s like the Senna, with the lower final drive it is attempting to put similar amount of torque to the road, the extra 10mm would surely have helped.Drag Times have managed to get there hands on one... Looks quite pokey!!
I know 1/4 mile times are irrelevant to many supercar owners especially track focused ones, but its a bonus winning that top trump too.
9.8 1/4 on normal Pirellis on the street. Not Corsa or prepped surface... put it in perspective the Chiron on the strip ran 9.9....
The way that speedo climbs is ridiculous!

I can't remember his name but there's another respected youtuber who regularly tests cars in america who loves the 765ltI know 1/4 mile times are irrelevant to many supercar owners especially track focused ones, but its a bonus winning that top trump too.

such a polarising car! I suppose the main failure is that it's objectively bad on track despite it being a track car

Suppose lap times will ultimately show if it’s a “good” track car. I guess some want clinical well balanced Neutral cars and some want ones that literally have your palms sweating with fear on each corner . By the sounds of it the 765lt is more the latter?? Which would be where I would swing... such a polarising car! I suppose the main failure is that it's objectively bad on track despite it being a track car

in a slower hot hatch i'd rather it be more exciting but in something which is incredibly powerful and will be going insane speeds then i'd rather it be a bit more balanced personally! everyone who drives the tdf on the road for ex is absolutely st scared!

Maybe it’s because I’m a proper northerner and speed doesn’t really frighten me. Especially on track... everyone who drives the tdf on the road for ex is absolutely st scared!
On another off topic subject. How many fatalities are there at trackdays in uk ?? Think I only recall one. These cars are incredibly safe when there are very few static objects to hit
Well, unlike my V12 Vantage, the great thing about the 650/570/720 is how they get the power down - even in the damp. And then how they gradually and controllably let go. Heck, I can drift my 650s in track mode just going through a roundabout (when there’s no one else around of course). The 765Lt sounds much more like my V12 Vantage, which snaps loose without warning.
