12C advice please
Discussion
Mclaren are very good at standing by their cars, as long as its serviced by main dealer then they will deal with any warranty issues. The extended warranty is available to any owner to purchase as long as it has a full main dealer service record.

Thanks for all the tips and advice.
One thing I need some clarification on though. Everyone keeps telling me to buy from a McLaren dealer. BUT, if the car is a 2012 car onwards then the car is still under manufacturer warranty so what is the benefit of directly buying from McLaren? Do you get better support and service after purchase if you have bought from McLaren directly? Seems a bit ridiculous to me if that is the case as McLaren should support any car fully with the best customer service as long as it is still under warranty and regardless of where it is purchased from.
Thoughts?

My 12C came from Top555. Mclaren Birmingham looked after the servicing and warranty bits fantastically! I wouldn't worry about buying from an independent as long as the car has cover.
Just swapped mine for a very orange 650 Spider :-)
Seems to be where the smart money is going Just swapped mine for a very orange 650 Spider :-)

Hi 430.. What colour 650 did u end up buying??
Is it really that different to a 12c??.. Anyway you got me curious so will organise a test drive of 650s..
Could be a expensive test drive...hehe...
Be warned It will be an expensive test drive I can assure you. I went to buy a really nice used 12C spider and then went £80k over budget and came away with a new 650S spiderIs it really that different to a 12c??.. Anyway you got me curious so will organise a test drive of 650s..

Its Volcano red and finally arrived Thursday. Its totally awesome dude.
Without repeating my previous post and potentially offending others who think I'm just bigging it up the answer to your question is YES, massively different. They say 25% new parts and I can well believe it but its the way it all comes together now, so much more feeling and excitement
I compare it with coming from my F430 spider into the 430 scuderia. The little tweaks have made a big difference.
I could feel it immediately on 2 short back to back test drives with 12C and I think it will become more evident with more enthusiastic drive time in the car.
All I say to everyone is GO and DRIVE a 650S and find out for yourself. No good posting negative comments if you haven't actually had a proper drive in the car
You WILL be BLOWN AWAY literally
Enjoy

The 12C is a brilliant car as well! On three occasions, whilst filling mine up over two years of ownership, I had people come up to me saying "I drove one of these on a supercar day, what the hell were the press on about it was the best car there by miles". No idea what else they had been driving, but I'd agree with them ;-)
Absolutely, I drove the 12c spider first and was going to buy it but we were £5k apart on a deal and I wasn't prepared to budge on that particular car. Thought dealer would cave in after a couple of hours but he said he wouldn't break even on my number. Its only then that I said well I've come all this way how about a spin in the 650s spider - never expected to buying one 2 hours later and 50% over my original budget but thought you only live once and it was amazingThe 12C never really recovered from the bad press the MP4 12C received at launch. Bad mistake by McLaren at the time rushing it to market. Sales & Marketing v Engineering dept. With the software updates and changes the car was transformed and better for it and the 12C was a well sorted car. Shame if you were a new owner at the time but its kind of washed out now particularly at the £120k level. Hence why the values have stabilised and some people have picked up cheap cars in the interim
