Yes the car is black. STG had it wrapped as soon as he picked it up.
It looked fantastic when he collected it., but then i hate wraps.

I expect half of it is being able to make another 20 min vlog on the wrapping process as all of them seem to do.

I went to buy a blade silver car but when I saw it in the flesh it did nothing for the car, it all depends on the light on a grey day the car looks brown/grey and dirty so ended up with the white

I know its built to a price but I was very disappointed with the matt black plastic on the front spoiler of the 540C. I haven't seen such cheap looking plastic on a car for years.
How much more would it really have cost to have the palladium finish which I think is so much better.

Must admit the Blade silver car I saw was in the showroom under the lights and had orange calipers and interior highlights. It did look stunning in the showroom but note your comments re a grey day.

Saw a white and black car outside and they both looked good.
Just not sure about the swan wings being black on a white car. I almost prefer it when they are body colour for some reason.

With the blade silver and palladium it was not such a stark contrast and looked good.
Again its personal but not sure about bright colours on the car either

Ok, may I change my mind as I do quite like that actually. Maybe not my wheel of choice though. Looks pretty but a bit like the petal wheels.
My personal preference is the superlight wheels in diamond cut finish

colour looks nice, but would prefer it with silver calipers and black belts (and probably the doors all in body colour)

Mine is on order in this very colour, with std wheels and cream leather. I can't wait! (Standard caliper colour for now, I can't justify Mc's price for caliper painting.)

How much do McLaren demand for the painted calipers?

£900. I couldn't decide on a colour I really wanted so decided not to spend the money.

I'm spending money on carbon air intakes and side skirts instead.

Btw this exterior paint colour is an MSO colour £££

That's my selection at the moment. Prefer the body colour side bit, but I'm going for cf air intakes.

Wow! That is steep, if I was in your position I would do the same then once the car arrives go and see someone like these guys http://www.brakecaliperspecialists.uk/brake-calipe... that could do an excellent guaranteed job for a fraction of the cost and provide the option of a wider range of colours. Plus these are the guys that Lanzante trust to paint the calipers on the road going P1 GTR's and the new P1 LM's

Again being nosey how much is Cerulean blue as an option? You have to answer I am just curious

It will be interesting to see how the future values or the 570s and GT are affected by the addition of external carbon or not as the palladium finish still looks really nice up close and personal. Its only when you put two cars together, one with and one without that you consider the differences in my opinion.

Internal carbon on the other hand I think is almost essential as a finishing touch on a 570

The 650 on the other hand seems to be more carbon dependant

Agreed. I've gone for cf interior bits.

I am not thinking about resale too much (most Mc buyers are I know). I'm buying a car for a lot of money that I want to enjoy, I plan to keep it for a number of years. If I lose the value of £5k of cf then so be it. Every time I walk up to the door and open it and see the cf intakes and door cills I will be happy. Many people won't understand that logic, which is fine, but I'm buying for me and not the next owner smile

I like the way you think, personally resale is nowhere near the top of my list of priorities, I was just trying to get a view for curiosities sake

Jesus Christ it looks incredible in that colour!

I drove a 540C after going in to look at a 12C Spider (that was unfortunately sold as I arrived) but didn't fall in love. Those pictures are enough to make me think twice though...

STG should have wrapped his 540 in that type of blue. Absolutely stunning.

That 540 is an absolutely beautiful spec! Although I feel as if the rear needs some sort of spoiler as it is a little flat. The front is the best angle in my opinion. Sam's car looks great too, the green looks dark in some lights and then when the sun hits it the car has a kind of gold glow about it, very special.
