You obviously haven’t been following the news for a while then?

Get a grip and get some bloody perspective.
If that's aimed at me I'd respond with get some bloody manners.

Yes, there is much crap going off in the world, but it doesn't actually effect me directly.

Neither does this truth said, but the F1 is one of my all time favourites. I'd saw off one of my nuts with a rusty penknife to own and run one.

I love the colour.

How much would the first run for a pint of milk cost you?

Given a substantial lottery win, suspect I'd have bought mr atkinsons rather than this one, as I'd intend to drive it.

There's a suggestion it has been quietly on the market for a while at around twenty million quid

The Quail car a couple of months ago fetched twelve

One person in GG is speculating the car may have been allegedly acquired by implying it was for a private collection, not for commercial sale.

it's suprising to me that someone bought it as an investment, I thought they were struggling to sell cars back when it was released?

Warren buffet invests at the bottom and holds, the skilled investor sees the value and waits. It is the sheep that buy the things that have risen and make very little. I wish I had this foresight. I just buy cars that tank in value.

Be nice if you had the £627(?)K required to get in one new in the 90's. If you had that then I need to get on your friends list laugh

The best I can manage at the minute is spending £600-£750 on a clean unmolested Saxo VTR. They're dropping like flies, and I'm convinced keeping one for 10 years, using it once a week and giving it a basic yearly service would yield a great return.

I’m sure some cars were sold on the second hand market for a lot less than list price at one point.

Shame it’s horrible yellow.
In Japanese culture, yellow has represented bravery, wealth, and refinement since the War of Dynasties in 1357. During this time, warriors wore yellow chrysanthemums—which represent the emperor in Japan and royal family—as a pledge of courage.

I'm not sure it was ever as low as that. I can't find any sources but have a vague notion that F1s traded for around £500k in the late 90s. Liam Howlett from The Prodigy owned an F1 that he apparently sold to Paul Stewart, and I think it might've been for around that kind of price.

Even as recently as 2009, DK Engineering were struggling to shift this GTR and had to reduce the price by £400k to stimulate interest!

Seems inconceivable now that you could get an F1 for 'only' £1.6m, doesn't it?

If I had the money, I'd buy it and use it...the car would love you back!

The guy that bought Rowan Atkinson's car has the right idea...along with Mr JWW - 3000 mile road trip in an F1!

There was a thread on twitter yesterday (sorry, I can't find it now) about the wrapping in the interior. Including photos of the interior without the blue taped protective plastic sheets in place.

The intonation of the poster (don't sue me!) was that it had clearly been removed at some point, so could hardly be described as "untouched".

I suppose these details do matter when that sort of thing could add millions of pounds to the asking price.

FWIW, if I were ever in a postion to buy and F1, or any supercar, I'd happily buy a high mileage one safe in the knowledge that I was going to drive the thing. But that's me.

Think you may be confusing the F1 with the XJ220, which certainly did drop quite a way down.

Cannot remember an F1 ever being sold for that little money.
