Congratulations on a nice car but (and this isn't solely a dig at you OP) I hate the way people start threads in this manner.

Oh I accidentally spent 6 figures on a car! Oops silly me... thereby alluding to it being pocket change and the thought hadn't crossed their mind until 2 minutes before they bought it.

Tiresome nonsense.

Why belittle a lovely acquisition with such drivel? No-one believes it.

Why?

It's inane and becoming more prevalent.

I'd expect people with the wherewithal to amass the funds to purchase such lovely items, not to need to resort to such patent nonsense.

I've no wish to derail the OP's topic, so I will leave the thread now.

Enjoy your car OP. Nothing better than a fast convertible.

The reading of threads and posting on them is optional you know............don't like someones thread? Don't read it.

I have no problem believing it, I too made a 150k purchase once & had only gone to have a nose at some fancy motors!

I certainly dont think the OP is trying to give it the 'big I am' at all. He sounds & comes across like an excited new supercar owner, I enjoy his posts, pictures & insight.

As others have said, I think you just need to lighten up & not look to bring negativity to a thoroughly enjoyable post!

+1 I only popped in to kick some tyres and was totally bowled over by a stunning storm grey 570S I owned it an hour later, doesn't mean bigging it about pocket change in my case I had sold a car a few weeks previously and had readies burning a hole.

Chill out. life's too short to stress about such a minor thing you've chosen to read on the internet.

Can I just say I genuinely started out on a flying visit late afternoon, just prior to closing time as I was passing the door on the way home from Porsche Solihull. Popped in with the wife as I'd spotted there were an Orange & Yellow 570s Spider next to each other in the showroom which I wanted to compare.

I had no intention of buying a car for the next 6 months or so as financially I felt I was more or less fully committed until then.

Sometimes situations just come about that are too good to pass up. Dan & I got chatting, a question was asked & being a decisive sort of guy I made an offer & was asked if it was accepted would I deposit there & then, my answer was yes.

Needless to say the offer was accepted & hence an unexpected deal was agreed on & a car purchased.

Quite a surreal way to buy such a pricey car, but that is the truth of the matter.

Lol, worry not it doesn't bother me. What I may lack in grammatical expertise I more than make up for with exceptional skill behind the wheel & in the bedroom (obviously!)

It will make a great garage pal for my almost Ventura Orange Hayabusa 7.

You'll love it!

I had mine out for a run last night with a workmate, first proper run in track mode and it's awesome.

It's the first car I've had in ages that I cant wait to get back into, or even just take it out for a drive with no real purpose.

it is highly unlikely I will ever be in a position to buy a McLaren, but I always thoroughly enjoy reading these threads from new owners and their experiences of ownership.

Congratulations OP, a beautiful car which I have no doubt will put a big smile on your face every time you look at it and drive it.

Cheers Andy.

It’s unlikely to be an appreciating asset as per your lastest steed but hey ho at least you can actually buy cars from McLaren more or less as & when you want one!

Have you driven one yourself yet, the steering & turn in would be right up your street I’m sure. Best steering I’ve experienced outside of the 7.
