Hi jimmyslr , RS here soon but I had a ride in the 720 and it was impressive ... very .
But we are old time Pork boys .
The Porsche dealer was, eventually, won round by your racing exploits Hunter... Clearly mine weren't as good as yours (which is completely true!). The RS reviews are sounding excellent by the way. Never mind, only a car and this way it's a chance for me to try something else and go British to boot. Every cloud and all that. But we are old time Pork boys .
I keep looking at the 720s in the classifieds every evening whilst sitting on the sofa drinking wine. Always a sign that I'm on the edge of doing something mildly rash. Right, test drive...

jimmy you are quite right , porky's nice but something special about the British option
clearly the 720 is in a different stratosphere to the baby 540 (which I collect tomorrow) but if you can
DO IT life's too short 2 friends have now gone at 41 & 42 yrs
Yes, that's where I am mentally. The 540 sounds great too. They are almost the same car in terms of tub and engine (ducks for cover...), they just get a bit shinier and tweaked up as you go up the range!clearly the 720 is in a different stratosphere to the baby 540 (which I collect tomorrow) but if you can

Honestly? 570s
If anyone on here thinks they can take a 570s to the limit on the road then I don’t believe it. The real world performance is not noticeable on the road and even a 570s is too quick.
Anything over 2nd gear and you’re into licence losing speeds/jail time
I’m not a very good driver but are you guys all honestly pushing these cars to their limits on the road enough to genuinely check their handling? Isn’t that a bit dangerous

Too true, life's too short. Good luck with the new car tomorrow, you'll love it and hope it brings you as much joy as mine does clearly the 720 is in a different stratosphere to the baby 540 (which I collect tomorrow) but if you can

So, where does the 650S feature In this decision making process. Seems to be priced in the region of 570 on the used market but is it simply that 570/650 are so close so as to kind of make it irrelevant? I prefer the interior of the 650 over the 570.
I am very intrigued by MCLs, so interested in folks’ opinions about them compared to more established marques in this sector. So far, it seems that most people think they are fantastic drivers cars, but very expensive to run, especially with warranty cost, but you’d be mad not to have a warranty....which makes me think they are a little more Italian characteristically from a reliability perspective. (That said, reliability from Italy has improved massively in recent years).

I'm no driving god either but I do know when a great handling car inspires confidence. You don't have to be at 10 10ths to know that hussling a TVR down a country road is more scary than doing the same in a Lotus for example. The 570s just oozes confidence at a whole different level (as you would hope) and the reports of the 720s confirm that's a further step up. All very much IMHO of course.I’m not a very good driver but are you guys all honestly pushing these cars to their limits on the road enough to genuinely check their handling? Whilst not necessarily being the last word in this, Evo has confirmed this year in year out by selecting not necessarily the most rapid of drivers cars but in contrast those which provide the best driving experience.
It is all about finding the Sweet Spot.

Interesting area and I tend to think any drivers car needs a balance between interaction and being too capable which with many rapid cars these days results in too much driving detachment and ultmately boredom.

I agree, but it's also about being honest enough to admit that there are so many other factors which makes you want to buy a certain car. Driving dynamics is only a small factor when buying... a toy, a status symbol, a dream car, just another for the collection, an investment, a posing machine, etc etc...

Is that Blade Silver with McLaren Orange calipers?
That's a really nice colour combo.
Yes it is and cheers, I think those little touches of colour are essential on blade silver, especially with stealth wheels. That's a really nice colour combo.
The interior was also a little 'grey' so I had orange seat belts fitted and then a little matching orange done on the steering wheel.
I love it

Course they aren't.
But this is PH don't ever forget.
Not sure I understand. As a powerfully built company director with god-like driving skills I need the ultimate engineering and driving precision that only the best of the automotive world has to offer. One never knows when 700bhp, hydraulically linked suspension or multiple driving modes will be needed on the run to Waitrose or collecting jimmyslr jnr from school. But this is PH don't ever forget.
PS. Not all the above is entirely accurate (and potentially none of it)
