My offer was unfortunately turned down. Originally My plan was to wait until March as I feel prices will drop further as we head into winter so I will hang on unless something special comes on the market at the right price

I called to pay a deposit on this and missed it a couple of weeks ago !! It’s a shame as the spec was mega

I’d definitely have gone for the orange one, black wing and alcantara plus P1s!

That Orange one was possibly one of the best specced 720s of all.

But it was a press car and had been ragged by everyone.

I nearly bought the other Press Orange Track Pack at Glasgow in Feb until I found out it’s history. Not ultimately an issue but best to know a cars past

What was the issue with it, just because press car?

I've tracked the price of that green one all the way down, and would have been very tempted now if I hadn't bought a 675LT in the interim!

Sorry to hear you didn't get the green car, looks amazing.

The orange one you linked is my new car.

No specific issues except that there is documented evidence of it being driven hard! I know it'll have had some abuse but Mclaren do an extensive amount of work before they move the car on (supposedly) and i figured I'd rather go for one that has its faults already ironed out with a few miles on it.

I'll let you know how it goes smile

That's a very tricky philosophy to follow...do you feel that every 600LT that has been signed up on a 24mth lease thats to be handed back will be driven nice and easy for that time knowing its going back?

Unless you buy from new directly, or from someone you know whom did, you have no real idea at all how it has been treated.

A poster on here had a 720 spider on loan and he admitted he drove that very, very hard when he had it; however, they are designed for this.

A McLaren fleet car may be less problematic as a 2k mile car as its had lots of drivers all desperate to try and show problems that arose to fit in with the unreliable mantra; most likely all of these issues have been dealt with and never to raise its head again.

On a footnote, there is always the possibility of potentially offending the new owner by posting your views on it.

To me, its a great colour, amazing spec and a fantastic price...well done with your purchase caminator. thumbup

From the chat i had with McLaren Glasgow this morning, contrary to previous, they are now struggling for stock.

The factory shut down for over 3months and they have sold off most of the fleet cars, and they alone have sold around 30 new & used cars since lockdown lifted.

I would recommend if you see a car with the spec you like, its maybe best to secure rather than hold out for a better deal.

The more you hold off, the more ownership enjoyment you are missing out on.

With regards to the napier green car, you may find it is the only green 720 coupe in Scotland...now that is rare and worth the extra few bucks in my opinion as the chances of getting another are pretty slim.

I wouldn't be surprised if 720 prices started to firm up.

I would of kept the warranty running so that wouldn’t of bothered me, the £300k+ original price tag and huge spec would of taken my mind off it

It is just out of budget and I feel I wouldn’t get the use out of it over the winter months too, I’ll hopefully not regret it, or hopefully we will sort a deal over the next week or so

Fingers crossed for you!

I was going to view that on the 3rd Jan this year when we were up in Aberdeen seeing friends but I just could not find the time to fit it in and cancelled.

Although a coupe is not for me, I wanted to see napier in the flesh as I want that to be the colour of the next Mac; it seems to enhance every single detail on that 720...it looks totally stunning in the pics.

I think it was just under £190k in Jan.

I also put my plans on hold to see what happens, and shall just make do with my current Mac until the cunning plan Lee came up with earlier today comes to fruition next spring.

To sell, I guess it needs to be a fiver less than £150k; if it doesn't sell very soon, there is a good chance the owner shall have it until next year.

Problem is commission could be £5k.

Not great compared to price in Jan, but keeping hold means maybe slightly less next spring and a service to be paid for.

Or maybe you attracting attention to it here makes someone else snap it up as it doesn't seem to be advertised well...

To the OP, if that's your spec of choice, think twice and stay close to the dealer, as you don't know what's going to be avail next year, I'd rather buy it even if close to autumn. You'll loose min 10k a year but if that's for the right spec then fine for the type of car you get and the market right now.

I mean if you have the money just go for it... unless your offer is a little insulting and miles of the asking.

I mean you do know when you buy in March prices will still depreciate ... in fact March prices may be similar if we get a quick recovery, people go toy shopping for the summer March time

Indeed price wise end of the year is the best time to buy

My plan was March time, but money doesn’t come easy for me and I would hate to lose 10k from now until March then a further 10k+ the following year,

My offer wasn’t insulting but now reading the above it seems the chap has already lost a fortune on the car so is sticking to his price

I’m fully aware the car will still depreciate in March and going forward but as I said above money doesn’t come easy to me and I can’t afford just another 10k, don’t get me wrong I’m fully aware of the loses and costs involved with this type of car has but if I can minimise that I’ll be happy 😊
