Should George Harrison's F1 ever emerge for sale, imagine what it could fetch...
A very special example of the F1 for sure and a car that would certainly bring the market to a frenzy if it ever became available. AtlantisWeb said:
While on the subject of F1s. What ever happened to the wreck of the F1 involved in a fatal crash in Essex many years ago? Chassis number 017, I believe.
Correct on the chassis number. So far as I am aware it is completely gone. I saw some period TV news footage reporting on the crash and what was being hauled away on the wrecker was barely recognizable as a vehicle at all. In fact the only indicator that it had been a McLaren F1 at some point was one wheel which remained intact. Very sad for those people. >8^)

What's special about George Harrison's one?
Not that they aren't all special, of course.
Original Beatles lyrics on sheet music I think lacquered onto the carbon interior in places I believe. He was a huge racing fan and was often seen a GP's from the 1970's until he passed away. A big car buyer too over the years. Not that they aren't all special, of course.

George's car was given special attention during construction and has visual elements connected to his Hindu faith in several places on the car. I am told, but have not seen an example, that the sacred Aum symbol which "embodies the essence of the entire universe" has been ghosted into the paint on the car under the clearcoat. That paint by the way was "Dark Purple Pearl" - reportedly chosen to match a helmet that belonged to his young son Dhani. Not that they aren't all special, of course.
Also, handwritten in silver ink in places all over the bare carbon monocoque that most will never see are Hindu sayings, quotes and random song lyrics. I know that some of these were written by Gordon's own hand (maybe all of them) as I was told by a factory employee who was part of the Genesis assembly team back in the day that during the build of that car Gordon would often come down from his office upstairs to add something new that he'd just heard or thought of to the car.
Here's one visual example of a quote that was written. The image appeared in a book that was published not too long ago about George Harrison - included were some other photos of the F1. (Thanks to hurstg01 for the scan.) This appears to be from a section inside of one door, sans the door panel.
It reads "On some windy corner, 'round a wide-angled curve" which is from a poem written by American singer Bob Dylan called " Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie"

I guess that could be one interpretation.
It is by far the most unique and original F1 there is amongst the 106 cars that were produced. Whether those elements and that history appeals to someone is a very subjective thing, but fair to say it would definitely appeal to a number of potential buyers if the option came along.
