That 540 is an absolutely beautiful spec! Although I feel as if the rear needs some sort of spoiler as it is a little flat. The front is the best angle in my opinion. Sam's car looks great too, the green looks dark in some lights and then when the sun hits it the car has a kind of gold glow about it, very special. As for a spoiler, I much prefer this trend to cars without fixed spoilers if I am honest as the cars tend to have a purer, cleaner and have lesser of a boy racer look. And let’s be honest a fixed spoiler just points to the fact that your cars basic aero is not up to scratch in the first place.
On the flip side if you happen to be lucky enough to own a race car or a road/race car like a P1 GTR then the rear wing is fully justified and look very cool. I am obviously confused

This is a 570GT, not a 540C just in case I gave the impression it was.

Ohh I see, the 540 and 570's are very hard to tell apart. How do you tell them apart if anyone knows? Do you like the 675LT wing? I do kind of agree with you though. I think the MSO HS wing looks kinda odd. The main "easy" visual difference is the extended sill that extends out from below the bottom of the door and has 570S on it.The 540 sill is flat to the body.

Ahh I see, just googled and could barely see the "570s" . Maybe it's easier to see in person, will have to keep an eye out this summer in London! The 540 sill is flat to the body.

I'd go for a new 540C over a 12C too. The 540C is the best value supercar on sale today, it's staggeringly good IMO.
And as much as I love the 12C, the 540 looks better, has newer tech and I really wouldn't miss the extra horses day to day, especially as there's no chance in hell that the 540 is only producing 540hp. In my experience the 570 is putting out 570 at the wheels I reckon, nearer 600 at the fly.
Probably not, but also when companies such as http://www.dmsautomotive.com/upgrades/mclaren-540-... can get 650 BHP and 500 LB-ft from an ECU retune... just shows its easily capable of being as quick as a 650...And as much as I love the 12C, the 540 looks better, has newer tech and I really wouldn't miss the extra horses day to day, especially as there's no chance in hell that the 540 is only producing 540hp. So the cash you can say buying a 540c would cost you 1-2k from DMS to get a 110bhp increase.... not bad if you ask me (regardless of your stance on this)
A friend got his Orange 570s last year and has already put nearly 12k on the clock since (3-4k in europe mountains etc) says its the best thing he's ever bought - he came from a 997.2 C2S PDK before...

But then you could get a DMS tune on a 650S as well.So the cash you can say buying a 540c would cost you 1-2k from DMS to get a 110bhp increase.... not bad if you ask me (regardless of your stance on this)

I still think for a road car 540 ps in a car as light as this is what RR would describe as 'adequate'

Price difference between 540 and 570 is £17K though so still a cheap way to get a significant power increase.
apart from carbon ceramic brakes, forged wheels and extended leather (in total, around £11k of cost options on 540C), what other stuff does the 570S get that is not standard on 540C?Standard exhaust is louder on 570S, different steering rack calibration, suspension re tune on 540C to be a little softer than 570S, rear diffuser has one less strake either side on 540C, exterior trim on 540C is of different finish and quality to the 570 cars, dash and door trim materials are also of a different finish to the 570, there are some others cant remember all of them though.

The front splitter on the 540C is some of the cheapest looking matt black plastic I have seen in years. Other than product differentiation Why oh why its not finished in palladium is beyond me, it just looks awful.
The palladium finish is nice and cant be much more expensive to make.
Whilst its fantastic to have lots of carbon, given the price I think I would be happy with palladium on a sports series car

Front splitter looks fine IMO, should one wish can be made to have slightly gloss finish by applying ceramic sealant. RL - have you driven sports series car yet, you should do Am puzzled by repeated posts firing pot shots when one should get some quality wheel time pre finger + QWERTY interaction

Come on, you know the answer to this already don't you?The palladium finish is nice and cant be much more expensive to make.

It may only cost £10 more for them to paint it than have it plain, but it's the lowest model, and people can pay hundreds to have it in Palladium/Carbon if they want. So more money for the coffers.

Yes I drove a couple of sports series cars 2/3 weeks ago and I was reasonably impressed hence I'm still in conversation with dealers. Its not got the brutal punch of the 650S or the sublime hydraulic suspension but it has some endearing qualities different from the 650S. Would I swap it for the 650S - No way Jose but as a more regular daily driver in addition its a possibility rather than a bland Audi or Porsche. 540 just won award:

I'm not taking a pot shot at the car but I do feel even on the entry model 540C a half decent plastic splitter for a car costing £123k is not too much to ask for.
Ok it doesn't effect the drive of the car etc.. but it still doesn't look good IMHO when a regular £10k car from a volume manufacturer has better plastic mouldings. I won't be buying a 540C but that's not to say I wont be buying a sport series car at all
