McLaren 570S or GT?

I doubt most people would know a Ferrari from a Lamborghini or McLaren. Unless you are a car nut, as we all are, there is very little knowledge or awareness.
However there is awareness of the Ferrari brand and that’s why most non-car people ask “is that a Ferrari”? It’s the one supercar brand that know.
I even used to get asked if my Audi R8 was a new Ferrari.

To the OP, I am in a similar position where I was about to buy the R8, but now looking to decided between the 540C & 570S, mainly down to money, don't want to creep above £130k
I was in the same boat, but decided in for a penny in for a pound , just fell in love with the S.HIS LM said:
A small margin that I was happy with !sparkyb999 said:

Is the MPG really 25.5?? that's the same as my M4!
I'm averaging 27-28mpg in my 540C, with a proper mix of driving but mostly on good B roads. Is the MPG really 25.5?? that's the same as my M4!
I took it to the dealership today and averaged 38mpg cruising at 70 (ish) for over an hour.
Amazing Colour very, Prince Like (Purple Rain )
MPG took a motorway journey 130+ miles , on MWay getting 32.2 mpg !
79 set on speedo (Sat nav a real 74-75)
Way back about 30.1 slightly faster in stages , from 88 to 20-30 bloody traffic
But before the MWAy early a.m for about 15miles, ,,,,,,,, 15.3 mpg
So a good 270 miles on 1 tank showing 40 left
Its a baby 540 in V Orange
Waiting for girl driver comments,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Was it the colour that sold it to you as there are quite a few around the same price but with less miles ?
Vermillion red one also looks lovely and different for a McLaren
Yes it was the colour, and yes I hear you about the miles. I’m not too worried I don’t cover huge miles but will try to use the car at every opportunity!,Vermillion red one also looks lovely and different for a McLaren

Miles are not a problem in McLarens IMHO but its just the perception with supercars because of Ferraris. There are so many low mileage Ferrari's ( it makes you sceptical ) but hardly any high mileage ones whereas McLarens seem to get used a lot more and definitely get better with miles under their belts Edited by Nomal on Sunday 10th June 07:06
