£225K for that Defender is laughable even if it was in a Bond film.
It's only laughable if no one pays it... Davey S2 said:

Hypothetically then. Should the buyer keep that colour scheme?
I like it, but it means everyone remembers it for its previous owner
I think it is fair to say that the F1 GTR now has the Lark livery because in its racing days it was well known for that livery. In other words, there is a legitimate historical reason for it to look as it does.I like it, but it means everyone remembers it for its previous owner
Presumably the P1 GTR was given the Lark livery because its owner happened also to own the Lark F1. That reason would cease to exist if it were owned by someone else. A new owner might believe that pink is the ideal colour for a P1, but I think that would be a minority view.

THJ bought the RM Sotheby's car and sold it on pretty quickly.
He didn't.
Andy - is your car the RM car?

Andy, I assume therefore you purchase the Sotherby car.Personally I think it's a wonderful thing, and if the situation ever arises where I can have a 'collection' of vehicles, I would certainly not hesitate in having something similar in it (along with an Ariel Nomad which I also believe you own).
I think the Defender is an awesome bit of kit too! Thing is, SVO got most of the bits from aftermarket specialists - you could build the same car for very little outlay as it's all off the shelf and, in my opinion, it's provenance in the movie is nothing like some of the other Bond cars of the past (technically, not Bond's car of course).

Exactly, my friend built this one and it cost a fraction. Nicer colour too http://knowlhill.com/showroom/detail/292-land-rove...

Very little outlay? I have full build spec for the car and I know the costs involved.Would be more than spec on my twisted and that is £90k+
It’s a bond car and priced accordingly. Previous 3 cars sold at same price so I think we know the market.
