It certainly looks better and at least in proportion but I'm still not entirely sold on it or feeling the urge for one.
Maybe I'm missing the point but when I saw the first pictures of 650S I did go wow.
Still need to see it in the flesh to get up close and touch all the aero going on.
Anyway not long to Geneva and VIP day

I've heard the customer service is terrible. Cetain people on here who own all the top Mclaren cars haven't been invited to the launch and have even asked to go and still can't which I find shocking!
Maybe that's because they take to Twitter and bh and moan about said company every time they don't get their own way?Bunty Killa said:

They're in their right if the above happened. Crazy to treat top existing customers and potential buyersandy74b said:
Whinged on twitter many times?? The majority of my posts are singing the praises of the f1 and p1. Can I not post when things aren't right? What did I winge about the HS? I think P1GTR is the best car made at the moment. My F1 is very well known as I still use and track it.
I'm lucky to buy new cars from other manufacturers so I am in a position to compare the products and levels of service. Sadly I think McLaren fall behind Porsche, Ferrari and Aston. They' have issues internally between departments which leads to problems i.e. goodwood last year etc.
I can't be bothered to trawl back through twitter, but you were very vocal about the LT situation. When you're (rightly) well known for your gorgeous F1 you become well known for McLaren stuff, so the negative comments you made stand out. It's not surprising that MCL may take notice of that. Have you got a 720S ordered?

For those that were there, how big is the door section that now cuts into the roof? Just wondering how much this changes ingress/egress for the car....
You can see from the new carbon tub that there's only a small central spur, so i'm guessing the door cuts in almost all the way to that part.I think it'll be very interesting to see where the 720S fits in. As you say RL, the 650S is overengineered and is easily the most accomplished and complete of it, the 488 and Huracan. If you wanted to, you could use the 650S as a comfortable daily that transforms into a hooligan when you want it to. I doubt you could say that of a 488 and certainly not the Lambo.
Will they continue to make the 720S a jack of all trades, master of, well, all? Or will they have gone a more hardcore route? I hope the former as it's seemingly something that only McLaren can do at the moment.

I know that a Spider is in the offing, does anybody have any info on how they are going to design it around that central roof strut?
The 650 Spiders big selling point was it's near identical stability and performance to the Coupe so looks like some magic will have to be employed if they want to continue that trend.
Perhaps it'll have two roofs!
I doubt any part of the central roof panel is structural, so it can be removed for the Spider Monocell II with no issues. It'll have been designed in from the start so the structure will be designed for two different door mounting points. The 650 Spiders big selling point was it's near identical stability and performance to the Coupe so looks like some magic will have to be employed if they want to continue that trend.

That being said, there are rumours that the Pagani Huayra Roadster is still going to have gullwing doors, not sure how they'll manage that!

I would argue that from the 355 onwards Ferraris have been perfectly useable as daily drivers - this applies to all standard V8 and V12 cars. They have comfortable seats, light control weights and relatively soft suspension settings and are not particularly wide or low.
Agree they're far better than they used to be, but the 650S is bordering on S-Class levels of ride quality when in comfort, it's really quite spooky.I've done 5hrs driving in a 650S and got out feeling fresh as a daisy whereas 2hrs in a 488 made me feel very worn out.
Purely my experience of course. I'm 6'3 so the small mid engine Ferraris never fit me too well.

It's about time you got yourself a decent camera, I don't know how but you manage to make a McLaren look dull and boring in every shot. Get yourself a DSLR and learn some basic processing in Lightroom, then repost. It'll save you posting the same photo on every thread too.
For christs sake, he's just posting a quick image on PH, he's not trying to be a photographer! The endless bickering and sniping on here is seriously boring. Staggering that the people in here are successful enough to actually own these cars yet act like 12yr olds.

I'm not shooting you Sone, and I'd not shoot the McLaren dealer either, that'd be just wrong.
As wrong as his opinion.
He could have an opinion that a circle is a square. That'd be wrong too
Maybe the next model is more angular, but in this case sometimes, personal opinions are wrong, because whichever way you want to slice it, the 720S bares no similarity to Lamborghini in terms of surface treatment.
But his opinion is clearly wrong. The 720S is actually curvier than the 650S. The 650 had some sharp lines around the front end and rear, this is all swooping lines, curves and scoops. I think he was just speaking out of his arse.As wrong as his opinion.

Once again somehow a photo completely fails to show off how good it looks. I've got a photo of that car I took about an hour before that one and it looks ten times better.
I will admit the light cluster is challenging at first, but after 10mins of staring I 'got it' and love it now.
If you're on the fence, wait til you see it.
