For running in, I drove mine in Manual (well I do anyway) to avoid low rev and change gears often which helps.

Yes, have to admit the revs were getting a bit low at times. Will give manual mode a try next.

Ricardo run every new engine for 30 minutes up to full power on their engine dynos prior to installation so I wouldn't be too worried about giving it some......
