Seemed harmless enough to me.

Just spoke enthusiastically about his car; seems like he told a few fibs here and there to disguise who he was, but it does seem as though he has or had most of the cars he spoke about.

If that is his 675 at AB, it looks really nice and has a great spec, although personaly I would remove the rear airbrake decal.

At some point though, AB must slowly start to exhaust the pool of potential 675 buyers.

Not the case. When he was rambolambo he got banned for racism. And since then "fibbing" is a light way to put it. The man is an arse.

Back to the cara though the same ones have been for sale for quite a whole. Market definitely settling down.

No, but then i havn't seen anyones cars on here.

If someone on a forum says they have x,y & z cars its good enough for me.

I have zero interest in calling people out, and do wonder what pleasure others gain out of that.

If someone is a walter, or is a previous banned user it really has no impact on myself, and certainly couldn't find the time to pursue it.

At least he was on here posting about the actual topic; unlike others.

Looking around the market, a lot of cars from Ferrari, Lambo & McLaren are taking longer to sell.

Maybe a bit of cooling of the market with everything going on currently.

Let’s hope so as the current market couldn’t be more bonkers - overs in absolutely everything - going to really hurt when supply catches up and the people who’ve bought non limited cars for overs will experience “double depreciation” Not wishing this on anyone but there is no way I’d buy something modern at the moment. smile

As an enthusiast (not an investor) I always buy cars with the view that one could lose a shed load and the rising values of cars over recent years is a very unusual occurrence. Speaking with a classic car restorer/trader yesterday he commented that up to 90% of buyers were investors in recent years and as with the late 80`s when a similar situation occurred with car values, the market crashed when the investors pulled out because they found other places to invest and get a better return. Its hard to judge at the moment when this might occur given the still very low interest rates but it seems likely that for a good number of people there will be less disposable income which must have some effect. There are however more and more people with a lot more money these days... ??

As far as I can work it out there are the factors below playing out against each other.

In support of values staying high

1. It's the end of an era for analogue / petrol cars and potential buyers want to buy there 'dream' car while they can
2. Because of above there is only a diminishing pool of availability
3. Lack of new car availability forces buyers into used cars
4. Interest rates are still low
5. Inflation is high meaning assets are the best place to put any spare cash, including cars
6. For whatever reason at the higher price points there seems to be plenty of cash / affordability
7. Collectors / owners generally know that almost all investments come back so if they can most owners should hold on to assets if the market falls.
8. As of 2023 all new cars will have speed restrictors, this combined with PPF and other electronic nanny devices makes older cars more attractive

In support of values going down

1. General increase in cost of living /possible impending recession means potential owners will hold off new purchases forcing prices down to enable a sale.
2. A car is one of first assets to sell if funds are needed for general living in a recession (7 above possible might see less of this)
3. Legislation against ICE cars and 2030 approaching means fewer people inclined to buy petrol cars as dailies

Those are my quick thoughts on the market, more to keep prices stable for rarer / supercars than go down but who knows. I enjoy my 675LT so its value is not really of high importance as I have no intention to sell and will just keep as long as I can.

Enjoy your cars and let your children worry about residuals - if there is anything left fine - if not you have had fun. I have a small selection of cars and I don’t plan that they will be usable in say 20 years time from now due to stupid politicians making it impossible to use ICE cars in cities etc. This is an end of an era and possibly of motoring as a means of enjoyment. The next generation (who live in cities) do not have an interest in cars let alone have a drivers license. They cant wait for the driverless car which enables three to watch YouTube whilst being transported from A to B. So buy what you can afford and keep it.

Each to their own but personally i find lying incredibly insulting, rude and offence as it assumes i am stupid enough to believe said bullsh*t, you might as just as well tell everyone you take them for a complete pr*ck! Which is why they absolutely need calling out.

No agenda with you, onwards and upwards!

I am lucky enough to have leather and alcantara luxury seats that I am having swapped for the current P1 seats just for a wee change...I think it was SSO that has the comfort seats in his 675 spider and prefers them.

Anyone else got comfort seats in their 675?

I do love the P1 seats though...they are just fantastic.
Had standard width P1 seats in my last 675 (should never have sold it frown)
Current one has comfort seats with memory, which whilst more adjustable they aren't as comfortable.
I have a set of Touring P1 seats at D Class at the mo being retrimmed and heaters installed for those roof off winter blasts.

I went the same route as you are on.

The car had both seats of seats, but through AB, they went to DClass and the leather comfort seats had alcantara fitted to the middle inserts, green stitching , and the imbossed 675 in the correct colours.

The alcantara P1 seats had the green stitching inserted and 675 stitched onto the headrests.

Went whole hog and had steering wheel retrimmed in fresh alcantara with a 12 o'clock band inserted.

They did a 1st class job.

How you enjoying yours?

The VO just pops in the sunlight; my last mac was in that colour.
So finally got the car back after a rather prolonged service visit.

I think it was mikey k whom said i was making a mistake swapping out the P1 seats for the comfort seats...I can now concur he was spot on.

I had the same electric comfort seats on my last mclaren and remember them as being such a comfy seat to sit on.

It now feels like I am sitting 'on' the seat as apposed to sitting 'in' it, and feel a lot higher up.

They are getting swapped back next week!

The P1 seats, whilst a pain in the ass for a 50yr old to get in and out off, are just the most perfect seat mclaren do and mind boggling comfy.

Sennas are also mega comfy, but the shoulders are even more tricky to me for access/egress.

What was amazing though is the weight difference.

The P1 seats came back in the same boxes the electric comfort seats were sent out in; the comforts were pretty heavy and awkward to lift; I actually had to check the boxes when the P1s came back as I thought they were empty!

The P1s make the 675 drive even more of an occasion as it feels like a proper special car whilst hunkered in them.

Cannot recommend them enough now.

Defo want the P1 seats in my next car...I've see a few 600LTs advertised recently with the comfort seats...never made sense to me! v rare to see buckets in the 720S.

Sitting tight for now wanna see if mkt softens a little over the next 6 months. Some cars are advertised for ages but no price reductions seem forthcoming.
