It’s subjective.
Personally, I was only buying one with carbon bumpers.
So happy to pay a premium for it
I prob paid £5-£10k over for my spec but has CF bumpers, mirrors, side intakes, wing, interior, tub sills, arch liners and MSO rear diffuser and I’ve since added CF P1 buckets, so think aside from the extended CF interior it pretty much has it all.

Just as a counterpoint - consider if you’re buying the car as a showpiece soon to be sold, or for the masterpiece of a road car for driving that it is.
Since I had planned it as my forever ICE supercar, to be driven and parked normally, I deliberately chose no external carbon. I love the fact that you don’t have to worry about the palladium bits, which withstand minor impacts without dings. Besides, to me, adding useless carbon just goes against the Mclaren vibe of function first.

Couldn't agree more; important to some and not to others.Personally, I was only buying one with carbon bumpers.

My VO 650 spider had a pretty near identical amount of carbon; I was specifically looking for that colour, as much carbon as possible and alcantara.
It took a bit if time, but the right car came up as they always do.
I sold it privately very quickly to the first person that enquired about it for pretty near the full asking price, so paying the original premium against a 650 without carbon was not 'dead' money.
Each to their own and all that.

How much extra value do you reckon carbon options add to these cars?
Always going to be worth a premium over a basic spec car, and for the pittance extra that you would pay on a used car is somewhat of a bargain when you consider the cost when new,, it will also remain fresh and new looking if wrapped in a quality PPF,, I have external visible packs 1,2&3 on my 600LT and it looks amazing,,TBCTBC said:

Do you think Thorney are maybe trying pushing the prices up? No competition on P11 cars from the Franchise dealers who sometimes seemed to discount to Easley just to get a sale ..
Pretty sure Thorney don't set the price, the owner does.Sell your McLaren through us

I've got to decide if I sell mine or just put it away in storage, as I want a 2+2 and don't have the space to keep both.
I did think I'd never get rid of it when I bought it, but it gets very little use nowadays.
On the other hand, I don't want to sell one now and then re-buy another in a couploe of years that I don't know.

Conventional wisdom is that McLarens do not like being stuck in storage for extended periods. They tend to develop issues if they are not driven.
Worth asking this question I guess; what is the spec of your 650S. I am currently in the market
Spider, Storm Grey, 13,000 miles, Thorney for the last two services, McLaren before that, carbon inside, not much outside.Worth asking this question I guess; what is the spec of your 650S. I am currently in the market
I've had it four years, others in the owners club know it, it's the one with the ridiculous racing stripes and gold wheels (normal wheels can be put back onb nif needed...)
It's not up for sale yet though...
In the meanwhile do you want to buy my Emira?
