Michelin Cup 2’s or Pirelli P Zero Corsas
Discussion
Having reviewed the state of my rear tyres I now need to consider replacing and would appreciate input from any McLaren owners experience
My 570s came standard with Pirelli P Zeros and they are no doubt an excellent tyre but I have run my Lotus’s on Cup 2’s which are fantastic in the dry .
Do I stick with The Pirelli’s particularly as fronts are and still with plenty of tread on them or switch to Michelin which also happen to be a good £100 less per tyre

You want Michelin PS4S.
They are so much better than the P Zeros it is unreal, massively more traction and just feel stickier in all situations.
They worked so well on my 570 that when I got a nail in the rear PZero of my 720 and was presented with a Mclaren quote of £640 for one tyre I man mathed a set of PS4Ss and the difference is incredible 50% more traction and grip and amazingly better in the wet and damp.

Interesting views ,
The Cup 2’s and the P4s are similarly priced while the Corsas are way more .

No rubbing on the 570 or 720 in factory stock sizes.
MOD500 has them on his new 675LT and I'm pretty sure no rubbing issues there either.
I'll say it again the 4S are MASSIVELY better than the stock PZeros a veritable grip fest and especially good in crap UK weather.
Good to know that there is a choice of tyres but can’t fathom out why the 4s is a better tyre than P Zeros. The P Zeros are almost twice the price !!
Any thoughts

Just had confirmation from McLaren that the only tyres that they endorse for UK Market are currently :
Pirelli P Zero Corsas for more track focussed driving and standard P Zero for a compromise
However would appear that Michelin Cup 2 are fully ok particularly for a more track focus
Seems for the money that the Cup 2’s are favourite

Good to get differing opinions of tyres .
My opinion of Cup2’s as no Cup2 R’s for Lotus has been very positive and had no problems in the wet but my Mclaren is a different beast.
Edging towards the Cup 2’s though as aiming for a few track days and assuming they wear no worse than Corsas are much better value
