So collection was a little strange, for obvious reasons. The showroom at Manchester is closed and the process is click and collect. I had a good look around the car and besides a minor bit of polish absolutely no issues, all as photos and spec. The car is Mclaren orange with the MSO black pack, and I have to say I love it, my heart kind of just gave in.

Alex was my conact and with Mike walked me through the process of finance etc.

I was the only person in the dealership which was a bit crazy, I hadn't been to the new showroom but it is very impressive.

Alex walked through the car functions, I am pretty savvy on the car havng read the manual (engineer) and checked every review. I still had a few questions that they answered and we were on our way.

It wasn't for a hundred miles I realised that I hadn't adjusted the seat or wheel!

Town driving was a blast, the car attracted so much positive response, everyone loved it. The car is very comfortable and easily capable of a daily driver, the dsg off the line takes a bit of getting used to, the throttle and steering very responisive like a go cart. Car feels very solid and no rattles or build issues. I have a couple of things that need adjustment.

I need to sort PPF

On the motorway the car lapped it up, very very comfortable compared to my expectations and easily as good as the Aston, however the Aston beats it on noise. The sports exhaust isn't as loud as I expected even in track, which makes a change from the TVR and Aston.

The infomat is clumsy comapred to the Tesla but to be fair that is the same for everything and better than the Aston or Bentley (older generation). It is ok but you don't by the car for that. I have installed an Alexa Auto which transforms it in my opinion making streaming easy and calls easier. Best £29 to be spent (only buy on offer).

My friend was involved in the Bowers system and it is very high quality but not as loud as the Aston, at least not with the roof off. We drove the whole 200 miles with the roof off, having proved that it worked. The roof is simply amazing, a great piece of engineering. I am not sure I would trust myself to put any luggage in there. In terms of space it is ok with the frunk, be challenging if you took the mrs away for the weekend.

Overall I am blown away by the whole experience, the dealer was excellent and very patient given it has been a 2 year journey with them. They gave me some great keepsakes including one of the launch books. I am passionate about my cars and it takes me ages to follow through, I do a lot of research and I read everything.

The car was factory specced and the only thing I would change is a bit of the interior carbon, but having said that I probably wouldn't and the seatbelts from black to orange.

Happy to take any questions

Congratulations and welcome to the 720 club if there is such a thing.

Getting PPF is the right choice and also ceramic coat it over the top.

Are you thinking of full PPF ?
Was thinking track pack , i.e. front, .lower sides

I had mine PPF'd full front & just behind the rear wheel's. 9500 miles in & thankfully not a mark on it.
That's my plan. What did they charge you and who did it? Were you happy?

That is a really hard one.

The p100d is faster, no doubt but it is like a fair ground ride . No noise just sickening (quite literally) accelleration. It is all a bit surreal experience, 0 to 60 is about 2.4 seconds maybe a little quicker depending on tyres and road surface. Imagine being launched in a silent rocket. People who haven't experienced it have no idea how the world of the automobile is changing.

720s IMHO is a swansong, noisy, smelly, and vocal emotional event. Blisteringly fast for everyone trapped inside. The car is a go kart and I am still getting used to the point and squirt nature. It is beautiful, full of functional detail and blinding engineering features. I have to say I am in love with everybit of it. You sit in the car as part of the car. Above 60-70mph the 720s mashes the Tesla, its speed just builds which makes it a challenge on the road. Acceleration and control (whilst running in) is not frightening, it feels all very sensible and controlled. It is still quite feisty and you only need to look on youtube if you are careless or not concentrating to see examples. It is an amazing car and very capable, so far it has never failed in impress me.
