There was an interview and piece over the Amazon deal - the vehicles will be more traditional and sensible delivery vans, not the present Rivian offerings - they showed artist impressions, think transit type delivery vans.dapprman said:

Agreed, but it provides critical cashflow to get the rest going.I thought Ford had invested heavily too?
From what I saw at the earlier concept, there's a lot of natty little details that have been added. Things like the through stowage that sits behind the back seat row on the pickup. Allows a snowboard to fit!
Battery sizes appear huge compared to the proposed price. Can't see how that will make sense.

Exactly, so much more practical. The Cybertruck was clearly designed for people who rarely use their track as anything more than car. Just look at the walls on either side of the bed for example.aestetix1 said:

Overall looks a great car but they do seem to be taking a while to get things out.
Ford did invest and had plans to use the platform for a Lincoln or something but shelved those, no explanation

I don't get the hype for a vehicle type that very few buy on this side of the pond. The SUV could be a big hit though.
A three or even 4 engined off roader could clean up off road like the model s did on the drag strip. Get the software right and it could be insane. No need for wheel locking, no need for diffs and complicated instructions to send power to a specific set of wheels. Could be epic.
But very few people are really interested in off road capabilities, so it could be a by product.
