Due for full reveal (presumably detail specs and prices) in July, on sale 2023.

https://www.hyundai.com/eu/models/ioniq6.html

Not sure how I feel about the aesthetic (I never liked the CLS and A7, for example; they looked melted/lazy to me), but I respect the drive for aerodynamic efficiency. Could be on my shortlist soon, if boot space and price stack up!

The problem with these super aerodynamic cars is that they compromise comfort to get it. They tend to be very low, so you have to get down low to get in and pull yourself up to get out. Passengers in the back often don't get much headroom. It's hard to tell from the photos with nothing for scale though.

Need to see in the metal but it doesn’t get it quite right for me. To my eyes, the Ioniq6 is to the Prophecy as the original Merc CLA was to the original CLS. A bit dumpy looking like the concept needs to be on something longer. The headlights look really odd / boring to me. But maybe i need to see in the metal from some different angles to appreciate it properly

I watched Jonny Smith's first look review last night and head room in the front and back looks fine.

I'm sorry but that looks like a Grand Theft Auto car made to imitate an old Porsche or something. Not for me.

I think you've got to give it credit for being bold and daring, but that's where it ends for me. It probably could have been brilliant but it's incoherent, and lots of things let it down, headlights in particular.

I'd much rather that ID.Aero.

Its interesting, but the whole time I watched the video it looked too high. Needs dropping at least 40mm.

Back end I quite like. Front end is a little bland. Like to see it in black, or a dark blue.

Interior - carpets look awful, and scratchy plastics on the door cards don;t look great.

They are all starting to look the same aren't they, with everyone focused in on aero surely all 'design' language is going to end up the same as the wind-tunnel is going to dictate how everything looks. Assuming all EVs continue to use the same motor/battery skateboard design underneath soon the only thing different between EVs will be the badge and infotainment system.

Bembli / Sketch Monkey did a video comparing the Prophecy concept to the Ioniq 6.

The rear end change and more normal wheels (still probably around 20", I haven't watched the Jonny Smith video yet) don't help the look. As said already it's like comparing the original CLS to a CLA.

Looked poor posture with limited leg support to give the headroom to be fair...

I rather like it - it looks like they've started with the aerodynamic fundamentals then added on the aesthetics which I generally prefer over the converse. It actually looks like quite a tall car to me, which hopefully means the falling roof-line hasn't messed up rear headroom too much. There's a disappointing lack of pictures of the boot though. I get the feeling it might be rather compromised.

Plus it's based on a platform called E-GMP, who doesn't want an e-gimp? silly

Well I quite like that it has to be said.

My favourite angle is the rear 3/4's, I think that looks awesome. I don't particularly like the side view as the apparent height makes it seem a bit dumpy, but given the dimensions that were flashed up in Johnny's video compared to the Ioniq 5 it has significantly less height so I think in the metal it'll look better. I also think I struggle with the car colour in the video, that kind of silver with the two tone lower part towards the rear, I think that is probably messing up the side view in my eyes as well...

All told though I could see this being my next car in two or three years time. I came from a mild hybrid Merc c-class to an I3s and miss the saloon car size (love the I3 for it's almost hot hatch approach, but could do with a bit more sponge and space). Pending seeing one in the flesh, I think I'm on board certainly over the earlier mentioned ID.Aero which doesn't seem to get interesting enough.

One thing that has almost become a deal breaker for me these days is a glass roof. I must have one, doesn't have to open, but living in the UK it just makes the cabin so light and airy even if it's all black (I usually choose light interiors). Hopefully it'll be an option as there seems enough headroom and space to deal with it.

Edited to add, maybe it needs to be two tone back to front all along that lower crease...

2 mins with paint… think that fixes my side view problem or all one colour maybe?

I think it looks great.

Has a lot of Hyundai Coupé going on at the front, combined with some CLS for the profile and Porsche at the rear.

Curious on practicality, but this looks very good imho.

Looks very SAAB like to me.

The front end seems very bland in comparison to the rear half!

I think it looks ace. That two-tone should carry on as you've drawn it. Thins out the mid section nicely but it's a great looking thing nonetheless. I loved the Ioniq 5 as well - Hyundai really are fighting for pole position in the EV race and if they carry on in this fashion I'm 100% convinced they will take the majority market share.

I think it looks great, but like the Ioniq 5 it’s too long and too wide.

Can we have an Ioniq 4 please?

Those four cars are all completely different, stylistically. I’m not sure you could’ve chosen worse examples.

In fact most EVs in every sector certainly have their own look. You wouldn’t mistake an EQC for an I-pace for example.
