CCS is combined charge system. It’s like on every charger you use describinb the connector choice between that and CHAdeMO, either on the screen or the label on the charger. If you had significant experience of charging you would know that, which kinda destroyed any credibility you think your statement had. You basically just spoke about your expertise on super unleaded fuel and then just asked what 97 meant…
So basically you can do one with your silly attempt at condescending “great” and go pollute another thread elsewhere. It doesn’t wash with me.
PS. What is WTF?![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)

I’ve never claimed any expertise on super unleaded or any fuel type. Neither have I experience of charging, I haven’t had a ev yet. Think you’re confusing me with A N Other.
I genuinely didn’t know the meaning of FUD (though Google answered that one) or CCS. Hence the question.

CCS is the big socket that lets you use a type 2 home charger AC connector and rapid DC public chargers in the same inlet.

Aren’t we past the point of no return whether there is a tipping point or not? I don’t think this is a traditional adoption type of problem as governments and municipalities will simply make ICE unattractive by turning the screws on emissions. It looks like the Saudis are doing a decent job of making ICE increasingly unattractive.
There may well be a hockey stick moment in EV adoption perhaps as a result of lack of alternatives but even if not, adoption will surely keep on ticking up.
I guess the real measurement is fuel sales as was implied in the first post. The last few years have been such a mess that it’s hard to tell but seems to be falling very gradually maybe. Which perhaps implies that EVs are replacing cars/vehicles that aren’t the workhorses of the economy. This is probably the really hard nut to crack.

18 months and 20k miles into a 22MY SE black, I think its a fantastic car, and already thinking of adding a year to the end of my lease.
I've done some big triips and the majority of rapids seem to be 50kw max still so the car charg speed isnt the limit and i have had 115kw out of an ultra rapid. i can do glasgow to the midlands on a single 15-20min stop which is the time it takes me to have a pee and a coffee, and as i'd normally have a coffee stop on that trio no longer than normal for a 300 mile run
The only ev i'd swap it for is a tycan.

All being well, I'm collecting our new (to us) IPACE this afternoon.
We've just sold our Infiniti FX, which was a great car, but wanted to move to an EV. My fiance originally wanted an electric 500, then liked the look of the MG ZS EV in the dealership. That wasn't happening on my watch, so had a look online and realised an IPACE is incredible value for money on the used market
The car is an HSE on a 69 plate with 30k miles. It's approved used so comes with a 2 year warranty and a free charging box. It doesn't have the air suspension, which I would have liked, but overall I'm excited for our first foray into EV ownership.

At such low miles and a warranty it's pretty much a new car for cheaps, sounds like a great decision.

Slightly off topic but knowing I was in the market for an ev a dealer offered me a November 2022 Mustang Mach-e GT with 11,000 miles on the clock at £59K.
I let that one pass.
Of the same cars for £15k less and lower miles..I let that one pass.

The value on used EVs is great (for buyers). I really don't get all the whinging about EVs being too this and not enough that. If you can get into these cars for £30-odd k, you're looking at great value for money I would have thought.
Definitely. A kitted out luxury SV with sportscar speed and handling that only costs a few pence a mile to 'fuel'..And this is a golden time to buy. The introduction of cheaper EV's, especially from the likes of Tesla, has caused the values to drop of used cars. Take advantage!!

£33k list, with FDA & discount I paid £30,500.At such low miles and a warranty it's pretty much a new car for cheaps, sounds like a great decision.
For complete transparency, £6k down / £279 a month for 24 months, 6k miles.

Similar - picking a 69-plate HSE up with 19k on next week, can't bloody wait if I'm honest, these are relative bargains right now. £1k down, 48 month 10kpa, monthlies just about start with a '4' ;-) That's from a £35.5k sticker price, with dealer discount & Jag finance deposit contribution; 2 years warranty and another wall charger thrown in (Mrs C might veto that as it won't look symmetrical We've just sold our Infiniti FX, which was a great car, but wanted to move to an EV. Wouldn't entertain one if I didn't have a home charger on IO plus charging at work though...
Also wonder how many people buying second-hand EVs at the moment, I'd wager the majority of which were over £40k list price, haven't factored in the April 2025 luxury car tax being applicable to them. March 2020 first-registered cars will scrape through, but anything registered April 2020 onwards will be clobbered grrrrr...
