For those who have ordered these cars over the past year or so and now had them delivered, how did the lead times document stack up with the actual delivery date?

On ours we have Teslas at 8 weeks, EQC at 3 weeks (surely a typo), others at 6 months etc

Is it usually pretty accurate?
I ordered an e-tron GT last August. They said 6 months-ish. It was delivered 3rd March this year.

Initial delivery date was Christmas, but that was changed very quickly. From then, they pretty much stuck to it.

EQC has ended production and they have a lot of standard cars in stock at dealers ready to go.

I suppose it'll vary wildly on the make/model, but my experience is that I ordered a Volvo XC40 recharge twin on June 22nd this year and it arrived today - although it was available last week, but I was on holiday and unable to receive it.

They were originally forecasting mid January and its availability came as something of a surprise, they claimed that it wasn't a cancelled order but I can't be 100% sure if it is or not - FWIW the Volvo website currently shows them as being available within "2-4 months" compared to "6-8 months" when I ordered it....

Wow £365 a month is pretty good
I've got the iX1 M sport tech + in mineral white through SS with Octopus coming soon as well but mines is about £560 a month for 2 years
I was pretty happy to stumble across that offer for sure.
Car will be here in 4 weeks.

So Nissan don't want their Leaf back. Our 3 year private lease ends in Feb, and it was 198 a month (1 month initial deposit). It was a cheap pre covid deal, for the older Leaf with the smaller battery, in non-resale red, and lowest spec.

We just extended it for two years at the same monthly. And used values of these cars is plummeting.

Not sure what this all means for the salary sacrifice schemes, but the net prices I was getting on cars from Tusker were hilarious, and now Nissan have made it a silly idea to change until 2025 anyway.

I chased the deal, not the car, back in 2020 as it's a child carrying London runabout, not a desirable car. And I absolutely love it, so am very happy to keep it for a couple of years.

Insurance costs have jumped though, to about 600 a year, from 400 or so.

This is also definitely on the shortlist, probably the leading car now we're debating going for.

What are your initial thoughts? I take it if we go for a 4 year lease maintenance doesn't cover us for the 4th years warranty?

You'd need to check the T&C but AFAIK and from my own scheme you'd not be responsible for any maintenance or repairs for the duration.

Just checked and yep covers everything in the 4th year, another concern quashed!

Our employer passes on 50% of their NI saving to the employee, do you know if this saving is added to your gross pay / comes of the lease cost / added post deductions?

Just wondering whether it would be the full amount (say 50 quid) or whether the saving would then be taxable, making it 10-20 quid

I really like it, it's the mid spec "plus" model with the twin motor and it's bonkers fast but not a sports car, despite the majority of the weight being low down it's still a bit roley-poley in the bends. 30-70mph is laugh out loud fast, though.

The ride quality and sound insulation seem good, it has all the mod cons that I require and as always the Volvo seats and sound system are excellent, it has replaced a 1 Series BMW which I detested, the seats were crap and the standard audio was rubbish.

It's a doddle to set it up with your Google account too should you wish.

Not sure on the warranty situation TBH - I've gone for three years and didn't enquire as to what "owning" it for a fourth would entail, but it might vary from provider to provider, best is to ask smile

I've just realised our company want a deposit of about 5 months as its >£500 so that's around £2750, which you get all back if you haven't broken any rules!!

If you also leave during the lease agreement I would be liable to pay an early termination fee, which is calculating how many months left on the lease * monthly lease amount /2

That seems quite a lot if someone was to leave the company after 12 months or so.

I'm in 2 minds now
My employer has no penalties for leaving and also you have no liability for anything until you take delivery of the vehicle.

Large employer.

My employer does similar. It shows on the analysis of the lease cost as an “employer contribution” so offsets the gross cost of the lease.

I’d not considered the implications on leaving mid lease, does employer pass on NI etc- good insights!

Will check that when our scheme goes live- all I want is pricing/ lead times on a EV9 and Polestar 3

No chance. Firstly screw the deposit and secondly you don't want the liability hanging over you if you decide to leave

There seems to be a lot of heavy discounts on some EVs right now. Example, Corsa E new at dealers for £20k. My works SS still has them at a list price of £32k. Be interested to see what the monthly sacrifice would be with it at the same price as dealers

Have you got a link to the Corsa E @ £20k?
I’d be interested in that

Thanks- did you go for either of them?

Do you remember if they were close in price to each other?

Take your pick. Pentagon seem very keen to shift them.
