We should have had a roundup of all the quotes to see what the best deal actually is (on the Tekna obviously!)

On 6000 miles the best deal is £1800 in and £75 ish a month for a Tekna, some have got a spoiler and metallic in that deal if the dealer had one I guess my car was a factory build so base red and no spoiler. The home charger has a free 32 amp upgrade if your quick!

I was told there were no 6.6 to be had for March if so that's why you can't get a deal.
This is not correct. I ordered mine from Crawley Nissan at the weekend, ask for Therese. I purchased a white tekna, 6.6kw 8000 miles on pcp for £1000 deposit and £178pm. Arrives in two weeks time.

From another dealer or the factory? I was told they had no more 6.6 scheduled in nissan retail for March - to us it makes no difference as we have the zoe for fast charging and if the leaf charges at home in 4 hours on the new home point that's no problem,

So just picked up the Leaf on a 24hr test drive...

On the way to pick it up, I was thinking...'have I gone mad', 'why do I want to swap this lovely BMW that can 0-60 in under 5 seconds with a Leaf'....

I REALLY REALLY wanted to hate the Leaf, my wife kept on joking it's a glorified milk float.....

Have only done 6 miles, got some meetings to deal with than will be out again in the afternoon, but so far I have to say I'm no hating it at all...If anything it think it's reinforced the idea I can live with this for the next 24 months...I see how things go over the course of the day.

Interestingly the difference between the best/worst deals on the Leaf seem to be no more than £500 over the 2 years...I've just paid £400 to replace the radiator on the BMW!!

Nissan must be making a big loss on these.

Its quite clever though, the new one is mooted for Q1 2017 just when the shed load they have sold now come to an end, if the new one is much better I guess they are hoping we will changeover HOWEVER we have all bought on deals and will in most cases wait for a deal on the new model in most cases.

We're moving into a new build in a couple of weeks, as I don't have an account number for my power supplier BG's website is not letting me apply for the wall box. The other site wants photos and information about the meter in the house, which again I don't have. Looks like I may have to pay for the wall box... frown

Quite a few people have been in our Leaf since we got it, and every one of them has been impressed. It's just a damned good car.

The 'glorified' milk float ones always try and shoot it down by questioning the range, but my answer to that is that it will easily cover more than twice the distance we normally drive in a day on a single charge. For longer journeys we have another car.

Hello chaps,
Didn't think I would ever buy an electric car other than a Tesla but I can't afford one of those yet frown
Drove one the other day after seeing this thread and loved it. Wife is going to be using it for work, shopping, dog walks etc and I'll probably never even get a go of it.
Went for a black Tekna from Yeomans Worthing. I'm a salesmans delight and crap at haggling so didn't get as good as deal as others but we are happy smile Pick it up next .week I hope.
We are going to keep the Murano for another year to see how much use it gets and get rid of that if its rarely used.
I'll keep my Cerb for the foreseeable though. Got a car for every occasion!!

+1

I think I'll be joining you tomorrow, have covered 35 miles in the Leaf today, even took it out for a quick B road blast (used up 20% charge in <10 miles smile), was actually laughing out loud how fun it is to throw around. There's next to no steering feel, but the instant torque of the EV unit is great....Never thought I would say it, but I'm looking forwards to swapping a 380BHP twin turbo BMW for a Leaf!!

Going to go for the mid-spec model....and in a few years time should able to afford a Tesla (Cannot even begin to imagine how good those must be!!)

Incidentally what kind of paper work does Nissan need for finance etc?? Going to go in all and see if I cannot get it all sorted by 10AM, it's such a cheap car already cannot be bothered with any more haggling!!! (Solar eclipse may delay thingssmile)

Not sure why I've taken so long to decide a Leaf on a 2year deal will be right for me, it's such a no brainer decision. My car is purely for commuting so the range isn't an issue, and swapping a 10 year old Toyota for a modern economical vehicle without increasing monthly costs is fantastic.

I may have left it too late though, so tomorrow morning I'll be phoning around dealers in East Kent to see what they offer. I don't really care too much about spec or colour, just so long as it's cheap smile

The 5k Govement Grant goes to Nissan, for every £1000.00 off £167.00 is Vat, the PCP's are with Nissan finance and the discount and deposit contrubution is shared with the Dealer so who knows. The BMW i3 must have taken sales, the factory keeps churning them out so they need a home, the long game will be the win for Nissan.

Not so easy once your on a PCP as you need wheels, mine expires in Nov 2016, the first Gen2 Leafs cars are bound to be top spec and if growth of Ev's demand continues at a pace they could be highly prized stock.

Tesla will have announced their model III by 2017, which is suppose be a 200 mile range car for around £35k....That's what I'll be changing too. Nissan knows this, and also know once Tesla gets it it the cheaper/mass produced EV cars they will be serious competiton, so I cannot see prices of EVs going up.....Remeber half of us rushing to buying Leafs now is because they are essentially 'free' motoring compared to ICE cars. When Nissan had the Leaf up at £30k no one was buying!!

I cannot wait to see how things go in the next few years smile

Tesla are not equipped to sell bulk and won't be by 2017 unless a miracle happens.
Friend has a S that some berk pushed the door handle back in (it's motorised) and to get it fixed tesla are sending a engineer to him to do it. It made me realise that the service network needs serious expansion unless they do a deal with another brand or Halforfd biggrin
