Autocar has just done a brief review of the single motor base model:

Torque steer gets a mention.
Thanks - I think the fact it’s fwd combined with electric torque bothers me more than the lower power. Drove a 200bhp enyaq and it was more than adequate, but rwd. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/polestar/2/fi...

Decisions. Decisions.

I would always go Duel Motor as for 10% more cost wise it offers twice the power and the range isn't that different.
I am getting 230+ miles easily out of mine now.
For a private purchaser it's £6000 more, or a 15% uplift over the standard single motor car. That's a huge chunk of money for most people.I am getting 230+ miles easily out of mine now.

At a 27mph average speed in summer. What does it manage on a motorway run averaging twice that speed in winter conditions is what most owners want to know I'd imagine?
About 190-200 miles from experience. With my driving it was about 20 more than a Model 3 Short Range and 30 less than a Model 3 Long Range having driven them all.
Just had a run from Chester to Birkenhead sat at 90 nearly all the way and averaged 35.8 kw/h.

Its the large battery single motor that seems silly as the different is £3k then looking. I would either get the basic one or the duel motor.

Pocket money for the average PH company director, isn't it?In all seriousness though, £6k for a bigger battery, longer range, 408bhp and 4WD is excellent value IMO. It’s about the same difference between a 318i and a 330i.

Just considering my options at the moment re EV's and the PS2 is definitely on the short list.
Does anyone have a guess when these are likely to be available 2nd hand? Not sure my budget will stretch to ordering a new one.
TIA.
Has been out about a year now and there have been a few for sale on Cinch, maybe there is a tie up with BCA and Polestar to try and keep residuals high.Does anyone have a guess when these are likely to be available 2nd hand? Not sure my budget will stretch to ordering a new one.
TIA.

It will be another 12 months before they drop below 40k I would say for one of the early ones which would then be 2 years old.
They were a couple available direct with Polestar that had about 5k miles on when I looked a week ago for 49k (launch spec) and 53k (launch spec with dampers) and both appear to have sold.

What I dont get is.... if we dont need a grill for ventilation, why dont they get rid of it and make the car as aerodynamic as possible? Surely, efficiency is primary for EVs.
Cos it still needs cooling with air not much cooler than the fluid (unlike ICE). Also it’s how the heat pump gets heat from the air and condenser area for markets where the battery is happier at temps cooler than ambient…Tesla has a lower opening to a large multi radiator system with various active vanes. Whether it’s good enough for global market demands? I don’t know.

Yeah, saw it this morning, thank you!No leather though which I think I want.....although maybe beggars can't be choosers!
They'll be as rare as hens teeth.

The standard seats are nice anyway they are a bit like wetsuit material almost and feel high quickly.
I would prefer prope leather but its better than some of the cheap plastic type leather you get in a lot of cars nowadays.

This, I am on the Polestar forum and I would suspect they is literally 10 or 12 that have made it to the UK with leather due to the cost as £4k is a joke really.

Agree, standard seat material is superb, very much like a wetsuit and seemingly very hard wearing. I’d choose it over leather every time now I’ve had it for a bit. Doubt I’d spec leather again. The standard seats are nice anyway they are a bit like wetsuit material almost and feel high quickly.
