Salary sacrifice leasing

Surely this whole salary sacrifice methodology caves in when government starts to ramp up BIK on EVs.
That’s then a potentially substantial jump in monthly cost and I can’t see the metrics adding up for most, as presumably the lease companies will be unwilling to reduce the tidy sums they’re making from these deals.
Companies going back to sorting their own lease arrangements rather than specialist SS firms would save a chunk. Also Manufacturers will reduce the retail and lease prices of the cars as the BIK savings reduce. That’s then a potentially substantial jump in monthly cost and I can’t see the metrics adding up for most, as presumably the lease companies will be unwilling to reduce the tidy sums they’re making from these deals.
In the end it might well be that there is no benefit of EV (or any fuel type) as a company car for most people, as has been the case on/off for decades concerning when gov't do/do not wish to encourage take up of a particular car type.
It's an incentive measure, it definitely won't last forever - that's the nature of an incentive. I expect the BIK gap between EV and ICE will remain substantial running up to the ban dates though.

Just did a quote and my exact car (X-Power in Racing green) is around £80pm more than I paid 4 months ago.
Circa £170pm gross more in Tuskers pockets just in the last few months.
You know the prices they get the cars for shoot up and down too? Leasing has always been like that.Circa £170pm gross more in Tuskers pockets just in the last few months.
I had an iPace for three years at £500pm. Went to get a new one, it was £900pm, but an iX was £380...
The price is down to what the manufacturers wholesale the cars too, which in turn is down to their desire to max out production volumes or attack their competitors market share of the segment and a load more things.
Leasing prices are volatile. When a bargain comes along, grab it! Don't expect the same bargain next time around, but there are always other bargains for different cars.

I agree to a certain extent. Tusker in particular seems to go against the grain with prices that are more often than not out of sync with the wider market across a number of brands. Caveat, T is the only SS I have access to so I can see how things fluctuate like crazy (mostly going up).I had an iPace for three years at £500pm. There's no reason at all why they can't let employees arrange choose their own lease deals and the company fill out the paperwork etc. Its more of a back office load for the company but, naturally, the SS providers are charging for that element of it too.
I agree the Tusker prices I see quoted on here are a joke, especially compared to what is available via direct lease from the major leasing co's.

Tbh I don't know why companies insist on going with firms like Tusker.

I'm busy having this argument with Babcock (employer). Novuna is like a 12yo has designed the website. It's so slow and very hard to match deals as it only ever shows you one make/model/version at any one time. if you want to view the "SE" v the "Sport" you can't do it directly; it needs about 30 sec of loading and about 8 mouse clicks and you remembering the price. I was gobsmacked with a comment further up about the SS company emailing them about offers, i can't get a reply from them and they never, ever email or show us what's been updated on the site.
I provide the Babcock POC with all this info and comparison quotes when they appear on here but they keep saying they very competitive when deciding to use them. - i read this as, we make more money off them than with others.

There's a good chance one delivered today arrived on the same boat.

I've jumped on lease deals and seen them rise by hundreds in days. My brother in law went from an i4 being a bargain to totally unaffordable in the time it took to sort the paperwork.
It's a funny old game - a shame your co is Tusker only.

And someone in the office got theirs for about £50 less than I did because they were a couple of months ahead of me.
I ordered my i4 M50 in Dec 21 which wasn’t delivered until Jan 23 - I suspect my net £600 per month will likely by £800 + when I need to replace it. Zj2002 said:

When my M50 goes back I think I'd rather have something more sporty, less 'GT' though. But in reality, I'll go for whatever massive horsepower bargain there is available...

i4 isn't listed on Tusker anymore as far as I can see but the i5 M60 starts at £1000net for 3 years and 10k. Exactly £1500 gross without any options.

This is why being forced to use a SS supplier is annoying I imagine.
As has been said many time son here the vast majority of prices on there are totally mental.
However theres a few random ones now and then.
We ordered the i4 m50 at 716 iirc a month.
Unfortunately the day after ordering the facelift was revealed and as such about 2 weeks later the deal was cancelled by the dealer (apparently)
New model goes on, its about £200 a month more.
The one we have now gone for is
q8 etron 50 black edition in ultra blue with tech pack.
806 a month!
Sounds very cheap to me, comparable leases and finance deals are hundreds more a month with big deposits, no insurance, tyres etc etc.
Lets hope they dont cancel this one
