After the Zoe / Leaf lease .....
Discussion
Which is not an attempt to piss anyone off, just the economic reality, making a second hand outright purchase unbelievably good value as the (private) buyer of mine would attest. The bmw dealer contacted severa Renault dealers including the supying dealer and could not gay a price underwritten...which I presume is because there are a lot on the used market already. So the bid was def 'lowball' but it is what it is.
There's a guy on the i3 Facebook page who got bid 4.5k for his 12 month old REx by WBAC. Which is patently nuts. I think it shows though the trade views the used market as very uncertain for evs.
Edit: sorry it was 6k for a Nov 2014 car.

Would you guys recommend a Zoe as a daily use vehicle?
The missus currently drives a (very economical) Audi A2, but only does 20 miles each way to work and fancies a new car; the Zoe seems like a good option. Is it better to buy used or lease a new one? And what's the deal with battery rental, I don't really get that?
I have a Model S, so for longer journeys we use that anyway - this is just for her to commute in, and other local trips.
Thanks.

I echo almost all comments from DS (although I love 'B' mode on the Tekna). I'm no stalker, but bought our cars from the same dealer on the same deal and think we live about a mile apart (we have the only blue one that you may see out and about). More importantly, I think we can both say 'our other car has a v8'.
Saw the rare sighting of 3 leaves in a row on our road this morning, so clearly catching on. It had to be very poor to pass up on the deal offered (especially when a good chunk of our electricity comes from solar panels, taking running cost down to a penny a mile) and I've been pleasantly surprised how much I like it. I'll almost always reach for the Leaf keys ahead of the C63.
Off topic question, but has anybody taken up Nissan on their offer of a petrol / diesel loan car?

I called the dealer that supplied the car, apologised for the short notice and said could I borrow something that wasnt a Micra in 2 days - they said pop down with my license and they would put me in something - no hassle no drama no excuses.DSLiverpool said:

So, yeah, they are cracking cars but PCP/Lease one, don't buy one outright.

I sell ZOE's and always recommend getting one on a PCP; buy one outright, either ZOE i or renting the battery and you are liable to be lumbered with something that is nigh on worthless after 3-4 years, mainly due to the uncertainty with electric vehicles and the possible pace of development in the next few years.
I hope you are working on a group deal for us this coming december There must be at least five of us on here that got one on the back of the thread running at the time. If you can provide a similar deal come the time then I'm sure you shift double that number just from interest on here.

Ok we all have 9 months to go or thereabout can we establish how many "punters" we have here to get a new deal and maybe we can do a group buy?Zoe or Leaf would do for me (zoe easier for me due to tethered charger installed here)
Dec 21st 2016
Currently paying £153 per month, 9k miles per year, no deposit
Mate of mine that bought his at the same time as mine would be in for one as well, same date, same deal
So that is 2 more for the group buy

Note the Leaf is a better car and in my case cost exactly the same as the Zoe so I would be looking at the Leaf first we no longer need 2 EV
I'd prefer a Leaf this time round also. Despite having a tethered type 2 charger. I can't imagine it'd cost too much to get the different plug swapped out.Shall we start a table or some such fanciness??
I've started a wiki page to just capture who is and isn't in.
If you can't suss out how to update the wiki just enter the info on this thread and one of those of us that can be arse can try and keep it updated.
It might come to nought but worth a shout.

Updating the wiki is beyond me, but if someone puts my requirement for 2 in there, that would be grandIf you can't suss out how to update the wiki just enter the info on this thread and one of those of us that can be arse can try and keep it updated.
