Pre-ordering and actual delivering are two different things. If you check the Project 45 website you will find you can no longer order and they tell you to contact your dealer over another model in the range. You might find that there are spare through cancellations, you just may need to be very lucky as one would assume they would first approach those who failed to get on the order list.

Now if you do manage it then I may suddenly become interested myself smile - with the caveat that the packs are available (if not included).

They showed me the factory order they had 4 sold 2 today. It’s the first batch after the dealer demos. Light interior I’m not a fan but it’ll be ok for 2/3 years. I’m assured the packs and 2 years free charging are included.
Error it’s not 2 years free charging it’s 2 years ionity membership.
It still gets the solar roof, remote control parking which I wanted and the heat pump pack.
I’m genuinely excited to get it, confirmed September.

Not sure as I hadn’t looked into it, pity no sun roof but I think if I get shut within 2 years I’ll get decent money back - I’m seeing it as an iconic car that will take off once seen - and the P45 is the ultimate until the N version comes out next year.

With Project 45 no longer available I'm hearing late Nov early Dec for AWD Ionic 5's. Is anyone hearing different?

I think i'd prefer the ev6, however the ioniq 5 is quite cheap on lease at the minute for a top spec car, the EV6 is quite a bit more, i'm sure it'll drop but I wouldn't want to loose the offer price on the 5.

Just need to work out if 6000 miles of £0.45pmm vs 4ppm stacks up when doing the maths as a company car.

Good man. Presume you have bought yours rather than lease? I'm only looking to lease...if that makes a difference.

Pcp - not much difference I am happy with the monthlies, I did 4 years but will look to sell after 2 to capitalise on the demand / trend / freshness - we shall see.

All going to come down to which you prefer the style of both inside and out I'd have thought? Very different approaches, which makes sense as broadens the appeal.
Ioniq 5 all day for me. Give me some retro 80s futurism styling touches anyday.

Did notice the 5 there has like iPads in the doors? I guess this is for the camera wing mirrors which also look a little after-thougty.

Just been to see the EV6 at local Kia dealer (Preston) and a friend got the ioniq5 last week. I like the EV6 quite a bit more - the midline ioniq5 of my friend seemed a bit basic on the inside door panels (to the extent that I couldn’t imagine moving to it after the ipace), and I prefer the darker dash in the EV6. But I could see myself in an EV6. Not sure if 300bhp will be too much of a step down from the ipace - the GT with 580 bhp is a touch unnecessary, and not available for 15 months or so when my ipace contract is up in 8 months, so a big gap. Plus you get a sunroof on the GT line but that disappears on the GT

321 v 400 bhp is unlikely to be much of an issue I'd have thought? Still going to be plenty quick compared to 99% of cars on the road.

I have been pondering that overnight and you are right - the time gap to the GT pretty much rules it out anyway, and it’s 577bhp would be rather unused / unusable! The loss of ability to have non-monochrome paint and loss of sunroof also suggest the GT ain’t worth the wait

I’m going for one of these 2 as well next year. Waiting to see what the Ioniq 5 N is like before deciding between that or an EV6 GT

I have the opportunity to lease through work. Can anyone explain why the EV6 is about £100 more a month than a similar list price Ioniq 5 or Audi Q4 Etron? My preference is the EV6, then the Q4 - but it’s not worth the extra money if the list prices are the same - or am I missing something?

I believe the Kia is slightly more expensive when compared like for like with the Ioniq 5 but it does have a slightly bigger battery. The Q4 is more expensive like for like as you would expect.

The Kia does seem expensive on lease costs though I agree. £31k for 3 years/30k miles in the £52k GT-Line S AWD seems pretty steep and has risen again from my post earlier in the thread.

I will say though that I saw my first Ioniq 5 on the road yesterday and was very underwhelmed.

Pulled the trigger on ordering an EV6 this morning. Order completely refundable if I don't like it when the dealer gets a demo for me to try in late October / early November.

Yacht Blue GT-Line S RWD. Probably March.......possibly.......maybe.........???

Most of the YT reviews in the past week really rate it, as do written reviews - quite a few suggesting best EV around next year. I think it's way better looking than the Ioniq 5, though i do quite like that. Common theme is that it's got tauter body control and better steering than the Ioniq 5.

Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

Was smitten by the Ioniq 5, but in Johny's review he does state that the EV6 is the more "sporty" of the two in terms of suspension.

BTW, I know Matt isn't a giant, but holy st that is a fkton of legroom.

Typical Carwow bks. I'm 6'3 and set the drivers seat to my position, then sat in the back and had maybe 3 inches knee room.

Still very impressive and very roomy, but don't take Watson's video as gospel when they move the front seats forward before those shots.

I sat in an Ioniq 5 last week. I'm 6' 3" and both my kids are on to be 6'. I set the driver's seat and then hopped in the back. No room under the seat for feet (altohugh I could raise it, but not preferred), but still plenty of room in the back. Given my daughter already has literally no room to move behind me in my Mk2 Octavia, I may need to figure out how to buy sooner rather than later!
