Just to be clear, I have absolutely zero interest in buying an EV. There are many reasons and uncertainties around that, plus buying a comparable ICE is cheaper.

I'm specifically after a brand new, warrantied, leased or PCPed car that I hand back after 3-5 years.
Have you looked at the MG4? They are doing 0% finance deals on that at the moment.

A used electric car lease can be very good value.

Example below.

The Citroen E-C4 is cheaper to lease than the regular petrol;

E-C4 - https://www.leaseloco.com/car-leasing/citroen/e-c4...

1.2 Petrol C4 - https://www.leaseloco.com/car-leasing/citroen/c4/1...
That's bizarrely cheap. What's the catch?
I've actually seen them cheaper still I think, albeit with a bit more up front https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/citroen/c4/361535/de...

The catch is the range, they quote 217 miles or so but that's at 30mph, at a constant 70 it's like 120-140 miles perhaps. I got one a week ago, so far I think the range estimator on the Citroen website is accurate or slightly pessimistic, but it's a good basis to make a purchasing decision on
https://www.citroen.co.uk/electric-for-all/range-o...
They do at least charge at ~100kW so potentially you only need to stop for 20 minutes or so.

Otherwise I think it's great. They're very quiet and very comfortable, great seats, 60 profile tyres and soft springs just laugh at our third-world road surfaces, spacious, good real-world performance up to about 60mph, radar cruise is great. To me the whole car has a sense of happiness about it somehow.

So yeah, if you can live with the range then I highly recommend them, but don't lock yourself into a lease unless you're happy with that limitation.
I've bought one today

Congrats! Year, colour, spec? How are you finding it so far?

I took mine in for a recall and now the cruise control is inoperable, which is slightly annoying, but otherwise I'm very happy.

Thanks! 2022, red, Shine Plus. Seems like the red isn't on any other grades and it's nice to have heated seats/steering wheel and the heads up display.

Not got it home yet as wanted time to sort out insurance at a reasonable cost.

What was the recall for? Might have to give that one a miss!

Ah, perfect spec! I wanted the red but my wife liked the dark grey and one came up cheaply so I went for that, the Elixir Red is definitely better though biggrin Yeah mine is Shine Plus also, as you say good to have heated seats, and I think the leather really completes the luxury vibe, on top of the smooth and silent drivetrain, comfortable suspension and well-suppressed wind and road noise.

If you check the MoT history of your car then it should show at the bottom whether it has any outstanding recalls, although not the specifics. I believe mine was https://car-recalls.eu/citroen-e-c4-e-berlingo-e-d... the possibility of the car losing drive (strangely stated as 2022 only, but mine is a 2021 and they said they needed to do it). They load a new version of the software for the drive motor control unit I think, but then the cruise control can't talk to it; other people have had the same but taking it back to the dealer, they've reinstalled some other software and fixed the issue. So a nuisance but not a huge deal. Hopefully yours will be fully sorted already, but if not I don't know what the risk of the issue is, perhaps not that likely.

I know what you mean about insurance, anyway enjoy the car when you get it, I am!

I think there's a pattern here - I would have happily gone for the grey to save money, but Mrs preferred red so in the end that's what we have! (and it does look great).

Thanks for the MOT check suggestion. It's showing no recalls on mine.

The car feels incredibly luxurious to us as our current car is a 2009 Nissan Note. Even having the convenience of automatic headlamps, climate control and Android Auto will be nice. My transfer to OVO has just gone through so next step will be to arrange for a smart meter and wallbox.
