There is a meeting of i3 owners this Sunday (currently 30+) at Bletchley Park. Details here https://www.facebook.com/groups/bmwi3uk/

Yes, there will be another one. No details as of yet.

An i8 is the perfect transporter of Krispy Kremes!

Were you there??

Say you have no time to charge, can you just refill the range extender and go on your way?
Of course! If you have one...

No need to buy the charger from BMW. I got mine from chargemaster. 16A is free but I would recommend the 32A for a £95 fee.

Are the cars on offer completely devoid of extras?

Join the UK BMW i3 Facebook group. Loads of info and advice on there.

I would recommend DC rapid charging. Means you can charge in minutes rather than hours at a suitable public charger.

Nearly a no cost option on most leases due to desirability.

The other options are all personal taste.

Seems the rules have changed then. It used to be free. Anyway make you sure you get a 32A unit.

A quick question for the owners on here. Does the heat pump option on the BEV justify the £530 cost by extending the usable range in winter? Or perhaps that £530 is better spent going towards a REX?
I have the heat pump but have no idea!

I won't.

About as appealing as genital warts. (and as good to look at)
Drive one, then come back to this forum. If it doesn't put a smile on your face (170hp, 1100Kg, 0-50kph faster than an M4) then you're not a true pistonhead!
^^^^THIS

The Boxster S driver I beat from the lights yesterday TWICE looked a tad embarrased / annoyed...

Maybe so, but they just look so bloody awful. I also want more than a quick 0 - 50 time from my car.
I love the looks. Have you driven one?

The i3 is a really great drive.

Odd - skinny tyres are the best possible thing to have in the snow wide is the worst
No, winter tyres are the best thing to have. Narrow summer tyres will be no better than wider ones.
Trust me an RS6 on winter tyres is useless.
I
It's all about tyre width
Disagree. Winters make all the difference. My i3 on summers won't move on snow.

Where do you actually drive the i3? I'm not sure the UK has had any significant snow since the i3 release...
Boxing day 2014. Drove to my sister-in-laws in Brassington (Peak District). Dump of snow while we were there. i3 stuck part way down the road from their house. Abandoned it on one of their neighbours drive for 3 days till the snow cleared. Borrowed their freelander to get home.
