It's absolutely hilarious that you continue to see your OP on this thread as a point of pride, when you made such an absolute hash of it.
Please expand on your 'statement', I'm still not convinced that a 2.5 ton EV SUV, will make any difference whatsoever to GW !!!!
But if we all stopped buying tons of Chinese Crap filling all the Amazon Warehouses dotted over the planet, that would go a long way to helping ? rolleyes

Not suggesting that everyone shifting to EV's is an answer either BTW, as lets be honest here given a few years the vast majority of EV's on the road are likely to be Chinese manufactured anyway.

But that is the point, China will be building most of the planets EV,s but using coal fired power stations, & the coal coming from Australia.
It's that all the pollution generated in China/India etc will still exceed the green credentials of 'Western Nations'. As I understand ( & know doubt "Somebody" will correct me !!!) Is it Germany looking to delay the stopping of ICE production ???

I'm still banned from the News, Politics and Economics forum because I suggested that the UK fix it's own problems before offering suggestions on how the US can fix theirs.
But it's the administrators ball, and if they want to take it home so nobody else can play, that's their prerogative. biggrin
All I can really say is that somebody needs a 'humour transplant", we are in the UK here, not China or North Korea !!!!

Too? that would suggest that in some way EVs have been proven to be a con in here.
EV's are too expensive, don't travel as far as promised/suggested, have poor national recharging outlets and still pollute the air we breath, with excessive tyre wear and brake dust etc. So, if you've spunked your own or your bosses cash on one off these 'alternatively powered transport systems", then as far as I'm concerned then yes, you have been conned. laugh

As the core of my OP was the retrofitting of Electric Motors into classic cars, I have had my faith in humanity restored. It appears there is somebody on YT
retrofitting Corvette Motors into Tesla's, oh such bliss bow

You need to stop trying to use lies as you keep getting caught out with them.

Namely:

Excessive tyre and brake wear, these are simply lies, EV's do not generate excessive tyre or brake wear compared to ICE cars.

In fact for Brake Wear, ICE cars are excessive compared to EV's which use regenerative braking, this doesn't use the disc/pads to slow down, so there is 0 brake wear during this phase of slowing down. But of course you know this, as others have already pointed it out.

Here some sources for this fact:

https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/electric-cars/running/...

https://l2sfbc.com/do-evs-wear-their-tyres-more-th...

https://www.kwik-fit.com/blog/electric-car-tyre-we...

Unless you have some respected sources for your information, just stop lying, it doesn't do your arguement any favours, in fact people are less inclined to believe anything you say as you have been shown to be a liar.

Feel free to discuss, both Tyre and Brake wear between ICE and EV's, but provide sources for your information as I have above and will also in any further replies.
EV's are more expensive relative to ICE cars of similar size and spec ;TRUE
EV's often do not travel as far as manufacturers idictate, Especially in cold weather ;TRUE
ICE cars can rely on engine braking 'TRUE

"From the Continental tyre Website",
Increased weight means longer braking distance, high instant torque means high tire wear
Compared to combustion cars, electric drive technology lowers engine noise, emissions, maintenance and running costs. However, one consequence of the many electric vehicle benefits is a significant increase in weight. Batteries are heavy and their weight places additional strain on electric car tires.

Electric engine torque also has a positive and negative side. On the one hand, it means instant acceleration. On the other hand, this high instant torque places additional strain on the tires.

So whos a liar now ? Oh, and where did I 'lie' ??? rolleyes

All this talk of people living in flats and not having the ability to charge their EV's reminds me of J G Ballards Dystopian book and the film High-Rise.
If I recall the 'plebs' lived on the lower floors while the High & Mighty lived in isolated splendor on the top storey penthouse? Strikes me that this view of the future probably already exists, where the well healed can park & charge their Audi E-Tron Quattros/Lucid Airs/Bentley/Rimac Evera in underground splendor, while living the 'highlife', The Plebs having to smoke around in smelly old ICE cars as there is no way to charge a Leaf if you live in the Aylesbury Estate in Walworth.

It's a rather depressing lens you seem to see life through.

Surely the Aylesbury estate has very limited parking anyway so your comment re EV charging is somewhat irrelevant.
I think that you are taking my comments far too seriously, and that you should consider sometimes biggrin I will respond somewhat 'tongue in cheek'.
What I still find amusing is how serious and vocal some people are, and quite simply spend time responding to all and sundry posts, despite subject matter, its like they consider posting on PH as 'their full time job' !!! rolleyes

As an aside, I actually come from Aylesbury (Buckinghamshire) originally, ( but not the Aylesbury Estate in Walford )
but if you've ever been through Aylesbury in rush hour I can see why an estate was named after it. Once you've been there you never want to return !!!!

I do recall Aylesbury. I lived close to Hemel Hempstead for a few years. As I recall correctly it had quite a good furniture store, Lucas. The Chilterns was a lovely area to be but now i can walk to the beach in less than 10mins and my boat in 5 so that's nirvana for me.

Like you, I,m now near the coast, keep a canoe and paddle board in a local boatyard, so go most weekends.
Lucas furniture is the family firm of the Green MP, Caroline. The town has been trying to get a Ring Road for 40 years + with no luck, and HS2 is going through the middle, so its chaos !!!

And now for something completely different:
Having watched with great amusement the Citroen Ami falling over in Monaco, ( And yes ICE cars fall over too) 1/ What recensoredtard even thought what a great form of transport that was ???? and 2/ how about a pre Monaco F1 Race in them .
