BMW 330e ordered...
Discussion
very tempted by a 330e after my 2017 Mercedes e class rejected by the lease company for being broken down and unrepairable.
Whats the real world mpg on the 330e on mixed driving? Loved my previous 5 series and 4 series and very tempted back to BMW after my failure to move to Mercedes!!

Ordered up at last...
Awaiting the lease company getting the reletave costs, my car goes back in December so the timings will hopefully work well.
Ordered 330E Sport as could get M Sport but with no options, having had an E90 with the standard audio package I was not going back to that after the Audi B&O system.
Alpine White
Black Mirror Caps
18in 397 Jet Black wheels
Sun Protection Glass
Harmon Kardon Audio
Sliding front Armrest
Heated Front Seats
Individual leather steering wheel
Gloss Black with pearl finishers and grey stitching for seats, not a fan of the red.
Hopefully get a confirmed order over the next week or so.

The above options are included in the Interior Comfort Pack, which you should go for as it also includes steering wheel heating, folding rear seats, and extended storage for not much more. I think you will regret not having split folding rear seats. Sliding front Armrest

The answer to that depends on many things!Whats the real world mpg on the 330e on mixed driving? Loved my previous 5 series and 4 series and very tempted back to BMW after my failure to move to Mercedes!!

If you don't charge it or have no battery and run in comfort mode expect early 40's MPG
If you do a long run using Eco Pro mode on the motorway you can get early 50's.
If you run in Save Mode below 90% charge you will get late 20's.
Foot down driving in Sport Mode (you will love it) can dent it severely!!
Currently I'm averaging 64MPG according to the car. But I can charge at home and at work with an 18 mile commute each way. When it was warmer 25c I could do both ways on battery alone, at the moment I get about 17 miles. In the winter I expect that to be only 12 miles........

my overall average is 42.8 and my commute is 68 miles each way, charge both ends and once a week my commute is 265 miles no charging on reverse route.

I'm now 14 months in and coming up to 30,000 trouble free motoring. I had 2 new rear tyres at 27,000 and although the fronts are wearing unevenly on the outside, Slow-Fit could not fix the tracking due to being a hybrid. A colleague has the same uneven wear on his fronts as well. Love the car but struggle with cases when going on hols, we end up having 3 people in the back and 2 of the large cases in the front seat which is a nuisance. Still get a real buzz from the power compared to previous cars. I rarely charge it but with steadying driving, have been getting around 44mpg since its 1st service
worth checking with BMW - took mine in today and they informed me the car had a recall on it. When I asked why they hadn't contacted me to book it in they were all a little evasive.Somebody said:

Thank you, my commute is 26 miles rounds trip, charging at home ok but no charging points at work. Drive c17000 miles a year so wondering about the mpg on long motorway stints.
Matt
True electric mileage would be 14-16 around town with a nice cruise type of run with not many stops can get you nearer or even over the 20 miles. Matt
I did a run out with full charge from Birmingham to Windsor ( just over 100 miles) with 90% motorway/dual carriageway. Cruise control between 70-75mph, light aircon, achieved about 53mpg in comfort mode.
I'm guessing the same conditions back with no charge would achieve about max 10% less because it still charges the battery slightly in comfort but then flicks over to battery mode when cruising at lower speeds at 30-40mph because the battery would rise above 10%.
I would say that every 1 mph above 75mph would take 1mpg off your mpg ( e.g. 85mph = 43mpg).
Driving in save battery sport mode gives you about 25- to max 30mpg around town with about 5% battery charge for every mile driven; I've not done this on a motorway 70mph run to see what I get from this.
When driving around town with no battery charge, I feel it's best to pop it into eco pro mode; it still charges the battery slightly and jumps into battery driving with a few % charged, uses it up and flicks into petrol, doing this back and forth motion with a mpg of over 40 easily which is as good as any medium/large car diesel around traffic town driving. I did about 10 miles the other day with no battery charge around town in eco pro and the app said I still did 30% battery driving so proof of the above said.
I'm always looking into different modes, I do like to pop it into sport mode at the lights for that quick change from sheep to wolf!!

My 330e is through 6.5k since delivery at the beginning of June.
I rarely charge it up, as my fuel is provided by work.
Noting others mpg, on a run, say Chester to Guildford, low 40s are normal. I tend to use Save mode, then use Max Edrive when I hit the stop/start traffic on the M25.
If I go across country, I'm usually in Sport mode, which can knock 4-5 mpg off.
Overall since delivery is 40 mpg.

Great pic of a great car Shepster!. Looks fab. Enjoy...just don't park too close to anyone in public car parks - had mine a month and a pillock opened their door on mine causing a ding!.Wouldn't mind but I'd left a gap wide enough for a sumo wrestler to get out of their vehicle next to me. They can only have just let the door swing fully open....if I'd have caught them in the act ...that'd been fun.
Wish I'd realised what they'd done when I came back to the car as their vehicle was still there. Saw them pull up while I was grabbing a parking ticket just didn't wait while they got out of their car.
Is it wrong of me to feel I'd have had revenge on their car had I came back and realised before driving off?

No, not wrong at all. I'd be fuming if that happened to me but sadly some people just don't have any respect for other people and their belongings.

I've had a couple of small dings removed by the non-paint guys. Works a treat if they can get their levers in the panel. Absolutely magic work. Costs about £100 (down south!).

I sometimes go round a car park twice before I find a space I like. I usually try to find an end space so there's less chance of damage. Although, the risk of a numpty clipping the car is increased. This happened to me in hotel. A delivery driver scraped my Jag XF with his tail lift

If it was going to happen it had to be in a multi storey. I parked next to the concrete pillar with an empty bay to the drivers side of me but at about the 5th floor. Typically the pillock who can't hold on to his own door decided to choose the space next to me over every other space they could pick.I've had a couple of small dings removed by the non-paint guys. Been to plenty of supermarket car parks and not been clobbered yet. That was without resorting to double parking too ...but I feel I might have to start doing that out of necessity!
I've watched many folks pull into virtually empty car parks and specifically squeeze their cars into tight spaces between two vehicles. It's like they can't park without two large obstacles to navigate between ...plonkers !
